wad abt BNDEP's merz?
Not sure which Mercs from BNDEP ever did service 67 in the past. It was until 1995 when BNDEP took in new Volvo MK4s and gave up all the OAC Mercs to AMDEP, after which service 67 Volvo MK4 fleets under BNDEP.
I had an ST article dated 2 Mar 1985, regarding about TIBS Service 167 getting 2 air-con buses as part of the trial. The 2 air-con buses refers to TIB279X and TIB280R, on which the buses were first placed on Service 167.
Quoted from the Straits Times Article (2 Mar 1985)Service 167 to provide a cooler ride
A NEW air-conditioned bus service will offer passengers from Sembawang to Orchard Road, Chinatown and World Trade Centre the alternative of a cooler ride from March 10.
Service 167, run by the Trans-Island Bus Service (Tibs), will provide an air-conditioned parallel alongside the existing non-air-conditioned buses on this route.
For a start, two air-conditioned buses - with sliding doors that retract automatically if they hit a passenger - will go on trial, running from 7 am to 7 pm daily.
Service 167 was selected for the trial because it is one of the most heavily used Tibs services, carrying about 12,000 passengers (excluding passholders) a day.
Fares for the cool ride will be 60 cents, 75 cents, 90 cents, $1.05 and $1.20 - 50 per cent more than the existing fares and on par with fares of the Singapore Bus Service's air-conditioned Service 168.
Student fare will be 35 cents and senior citizens concession fare, 50 cents (off-peak hours only).
Primary and secondary students who hold concession passes will have to pay 10 cents more for each ride and university and polytechnic passholders, 20 cents more.
Full-time national servicemen with passes will have to pay 20 cents more per trip and SBS shareholders, an extra 30 cents.
The new Tibs service will be two-man operated initially. "It's better to have conductors on a new service to help passengers settle down," Tibs Managing Director Ng Ser Miang said yesterday.
The service will be assessed in six months' time and again at the end of one year.
If it is found to be viable, the air-conditioned service will be expanded to the Woodlands corridor.
167 168 LOL
for CSS -- the first air-con bus trial was CSS 8.
But for a record, the first air-conditioned service was SBS 168 from Ang Mo Kio - Orchard Rd (Loop). That was wayback to 1984 when 8 of the 15 ex-SABS buses were acquired by SBS and thus placed on 168.

Still had Merczs in BBDEP (mostly former NAC which permed 92 before) in 1999/2000, and those PA merczs which permed 711/712/713.
For Service 175 between the period of 1989-90, this service was cutback to Bukit Batok and loops at Tuas Rd on 6 Nov 1989.
When Boon Lay Int opened on 1 Jul 1990 and the EWL line to Boon Lay opened on 6 Jul 1990, this service was amended to loop at Jurong West St 91 instead of Tuas Rd on 7 Jul 1990.
PLS NOTE: This service was NEVER withdrawn during this period.
For service 165.
When Boon Lay Int opened on 1 Jul 1990, this service temporary plies from Ang Mo Kio - Boon Lay until 6 Jul 1990, the openign of the Boon Lay MRT Station.
On 7 Jul 1990, service 165 was made to call at Clementi Int thereafter.

When did the BBDEP Mercs leave for JRBP (later relocated to SLBP)?

honestly 165 could have been extended to Boon Lay. So ppl now working at Boon Lay Way dun have to take 99 -> MRT -> feeder
Nice pictures of the old TIBS livery buses, reminds me of the good old TIBS.
SBS8533C, care to share some history about Bukit Merah services???
Is Bishan Braddell or Hougang controlled??? I remembered some Volvo B57s serving the old service 57 and 58.

Bishan services fell under TPDEP (now known as BRBP) and AMDEP. Both depts do have Volvo B57s in the past. Also note that sv 55 used to be dual controlled (AMDEP + BNDEP) as well.
Hmm, I've alredy mentioned the bt merah setvices, refer to page 18 of this thread.

If I remembered correctly, TPDEP had Volvo B57s and Leyland Victories whereas AMDEP had Merc OF1417s (mainly Hawke bodied), both depots also had Merc OF1413s too. St Michael's, Toa Payoh and Bishan services came under TPDEP whereas AMK services and service 171 (before Tibs takeover) came under AMDEP.

I believe part of the 165 route from the Clementi to Boon Lay stretch duplicates the MRT.
but looking at now, it could be revived least say until CCL fully ops

AMK - Boon Lay
Only services 10, 165 and 196 were cutback to Clementi interchange when Jurong inerchange was shut down in 1990. The rest of the services were amended to serve at the new Boon Lay interchange. Believe that there were some integration within the JIS services too

only remembered 197 and 198 had some twist later years. I've a feeling 187 used to end at Jurong via Corporation Rd
As for JIS... 78 absorbed 245 (can't expect ppl working at Pandan to alight at BNL instead of CLE or JUE), 98 & 247 merged, boarding pt became Lakeside.
248 & 250 merged. 174 amended to BNL from NTI. I think 175 was eventually replaced by AIRCON 192
206 remained in ops. wonders abt 450.

174 did not get amended to Boon Lay Int when it opened on 1 Jul 1990. It only made its amendments to Boon Lay on 7 Apr 1991.
In fact 187 was started off as Bt Panjang - Jurong service in 1988.
This service did serve Corporation Rd, Corporation Dr, and Yuan Ching
Rd.
Service 245 and 450 was withdrawn when the former Jurong Int relocated to Boon Lay Int.

if I'm not wrong, 175 was eventually withdrawn partly due to Sv 99. Wonder wat was it's final route

Service 196 did went to Boon Lay when opened in July 1990. The route was cutback to Buona Vista in June 1992, extended to Clementi in Nov 1992 and lastly, extended to Bedok in Sep 2001 when Marine Parade terminal closed.

I think BBDEP and BNDEP still kept some NAC Mercs all those while whereas the OAC ones moved to AMDEP, TPDEP (now BRBP) and JRBP (now SLBP). Remembered seeing NAC Mercs on services like 15, 23, 40, 77 etc. All the NACs eventually moved out and were converted to CAC in 2000.
Also in 2000-2001 HGDEP had some WA Mercs for a short period of time but very rare. The PA Mercs were under BBDEP for a short period of time too, after which it went back to SLBP to its SBST regos and liveries back.
Another case was when Serangoon services came under HGDEP controlled in Sept 2004. Some Mercs from AMDEP (which were perm service 100) followed suit and went under HGDEP control, but all of them were eventually transferred back to AMDEP.

If I am not mistaken service 187 was a newly introduced service in 1988 by SBS between Bt Panjang and Jurong.

All JRBP controlled for 187? Can I know the bus models which SBS used for 187? Thanks.

Service 77 was all the way FAC service in the '90s. After 1997/1998, it was converted to the PAC service after most of the feeder services in the islandwide was converted from NAC fleet to PAC fleet. And 77 got some of the NAC merczs.
