Did the old TIBS 181 used to serve orchard and Bras basah rd? bef it was renamed to 961?

181 did not serve Orchard Rd even it was renumbered to 961, as for Bras Basah Rd, it is. Also, the defunct TIBS 952 was the service that plys the above-mentioned roads.
Some things you might not know...
- SBS 56 was the first Bishan service from Toa Payoh and loops at Bishan St 11. (It was introduced on 22nd Dec 1985, not 1986)
- SBS 57 did terminate at Buona Vista Ter for a very short while before its withdrawal on 19th April 1987. (not 1988)
- SBS 210 & 218 were both withdrawn on 26th April 1987 as the service was under-utilised. That was when SBS 29 was made to serve Netheravon Rd.
- SBS 410 was introduced on 3rd May 1992, as part of the TransitLink's integration effort that provide links from Bishan to Sin Ming. (Not June 1992)
- TIBS 853 do not start off with an alternate route when it was introduced on 20th January 1987, just 2 days after the introduction of TIBS 854. It was then the alternate service for Suns & PHs was introduced later on 21st June 1987. (Not started off as dual service)
- TIBS 857 was introduced when both TIBS 161 & 850 were withdrawn on 20th Sep 1992. (It was actually NOT introduced in 1993)

107 had those VO2x under amdep. I remember 7198T 7199R 7200U were redeployed from amdep 74 to 107.

16 became full Mk3 fleet after it changed depot. The Mk4 DMs were shared between bndep and hgdep after that.

Most of the OAC Scanias that did 55 came from BNDEP. It was only then, small portions of OAC were depot xfered to AMDEP/ BRAM, when several of its NAC Scanias were converted to CAC and to improvise the standards of Air Con Services and at the same time converting some PAC services into FAC. (For example, Toa Payoh feeders would only use OAC or CAC Scanias, as the service was declared FAC)
Wrong. amdep initially had their share of the OAC CRBs. 55 had those perm OACs. Years before the conversion exercise, all the OACs went under full bndep.

omg.
Timekeeper and the Next-Bus boarding display is so different. Just because St Mike don't have the display doesn't mean it doesn't have a timekepper inside the office.

1237K & 1238H were all along AMDEP. they were both perm AM 859 before going to 106 during the depot transfer exercise.

Mercedes Benz 0405 on 82 (after it was moved to serangoon)
It's depot was like HGDEP (Punggol Rd End - Shenton Way), AMDEP (Punggol Rd End - Serangoon), HGDEP (current - Serangoon - Punggol Rd End loop)
SBS1816H was the best when it cameoed on 27 last time

The pix was taken at Bras Basah Rd. If I'm not wrong, 181 used to ply along Hill St & Victoria St then turn right to Bras Basah Rd. Apologies for the errors lol..
Would love to see DAFs on 911/912/913 again.

Generally some points about the Sunday & PHs route:
Take Service 181 and 850 for example, many residents from Woodlands & Yishun do not work on Sundays & PHs - they might take a day off to do shopping at Marina Square as one reason, the basic reason behind the Sunday & PHs schedule is to provide a direct linkage from the 2 HDB towns to Marina Centre without having to transfer extra bus services.
As for Service 853, it is exactly the same reason, just like 181 and 850. For 853, this service will serve Marine Parade via Mountbatten Rd, Amber Rd, Marine Prade Rd, Siglap Rd. Although for some who wants to go to East Coast Park, they would take another bus 401 at the vicinity of Marine Parade which goes to East Coast park or walk from Marine Parade through the underpass to East Coas tPark.
Suggestions to request for more bus services is not the cause of the introduction but it was introduced
accordingly to provide the necessary satisfaction and the needs of the residents.

it's also because the scheduled fleet on sundays is lower....

Service 82 was cutback to terminate at Serangoon in Dec 2003 and became AMDEP controlled with 0405s and CAC Scania N113CRBs, Serangoon route group was under AMDEP that time. At that time service 82 faced a downgrade from VO3x/Tridants/VSO to those older 0405 fleets.
It was in Sept 2004 when Serangoon and Eunos route groups swopped depots, service 82 went back under HGDEP but only single-deck Volvo fleets. Note that double-decks were never seen on service 82 again after the route was cutback, service 82 was also downgraded to PAC between 2005-2008 when NAC Volvo MK2s were made perm.

Indeed a downgrade from Volvo MK4s to Volvo MK3s, it even lost a special bus SBS1688K to service 36. But over the years ARBP slowly deploy a few Volvo MK4 Striders and DM3500s back to service 16's fleet.
Service 195 too, I remember last time it had some perm Volvo MK4 Striders as well as SBS999U (MB0405G demostrator). But now it is a full Volvo MK3 fleet.

3671U 3673P went to brbp 60 and 94 respectively in 2004. 3841X then replaced 3673P which went bndep.

Yahx, 16, 92 and 95 got some ex-SLBP 66/105 DM3500s like: SBS2702X, SBS2705M (redeployed again to HGDEP), SBS2720T etc...... and those ex-HGDEP and BNDEP DM3500s.
Where were the MK2 permers gone to after 16 and 195 became FAC?

There weren't any perm Mk2s for 16. Those non aircon buses on 16 were the CRBs.
