Less than a year (by right, about 6 months). DAF Hispanos DO NOT get to appear on other TIBS services, except to the dedicated services 950, 951 & 952 during its first 5 years.
When those 3 services withdrawn, they began to serve on various KJDEP services until they were sent to CSS (TIB405Z to TIB424T) or being laid up awaiting exportation (TIB391D to TIB404B). They were served on services 5, 75, 160, 167, 169, 176, 177, 178, 179, 180, 181, 187, 852, 855, 925, 926 & 927.
When did TIB 391D-405Z got de-registered?, now the topic is about hispano DAFs?

Around 1996/97, when some TIBS DAF Hispanos were transferred to CSS. TIB405Z was transferred to CSS

Only some Yishun services 171, 811, 812, 851, 852, 853, 854, 855, 856 and Services in outlying areas like 167 and 980 were once controlled by WLDEP when the depot had just opened in 1998. Services like 167, 169 and 980 still controls under AMDEP, making it dual depot control.
*Note: 160 was under WL/AM, even though its renumbering took place on 27 Dec 1998, as service 980
However, in AMDEP side, it also shifted its focus to the North East side, mainly Sengkang, Jalan Kayu & Punggol, not just Yishun alone.
I think I did mentioned in the previous posts. You can take a look at Page 32 of this thread below starting from that post onwards. Link is here.
So WLDEP opened before the Great Swap of 1999?
I understand the Striders were moved to WL from AM, but they did not appear on WDL routes till about mid-99 IIRC. 187 still had Setanta DAFs up till then.
I have noticed that some of the information are not mentioned in the History of Bus Services by SBS Transit & SMRT Buses in sgwiki.
Service 98 - Originally it plies Jurong West Avenue 1 and Corporation Road (where Sv 99 plies now) before amending to ply Jurong West St 51, Boon Lay Way and then Corporation Road when Lakeside MRT was opened.
Service 193 - When it was introduced in the mid 1990s' it plies Jalan Ahmad Ibrahim (Where Sv 182/182M plies now), Tuas West Dr, Tuas West Road and back to Jln Ahmad Ibrahim.

Service 852's history of operations as follows:-
1998 and before: Full KJDEP, DAFs were deployed when service 852 became a PAC service. No Scanias were deployed on service 852 then.
Oct 1998: WLDEP was opened and service 852 became dual KJDEP/WLDEP controlled. Scanias were introduced on service 852.
Dec 1999: WLDEP gave service 852's duties to AMDEP and thus became dual KJDEP/AMDEP controlled. That was where Lances were introduced on service 852 too. AMDEP Scanias were also made perm on service 852.
June 2000: Became full AMDEP controlled when Bt Batok came under Tibs. DAFs were withdrawn from service 852's fleet. That was also when Scanias were withdrawn from service 852's fleet when AMDEP Scanias were xferred to WLDEP.
Jan 2001: Some depot swops took place between services 167, 851, 852, 859, 980. Also with the introduction on service 857. Service 852 went back dual KJDEP/AMDEP controlled. DAFs made a comeback to service 852.
Jan 2004: Went back to full AMDEP controlled again. TIB436J TIB437G TIB479K TIB490B were xferred from KJDEP to AMDEP and became perm service 852 under AMDEP. From then DAFs were permanently withdrawn from service 852's fleet.
March 2008: Became full WLDEP controlled. Several ex-CSS spare Nissans from WLDEP were thrown over to service 852, together with a few CAC Scania ELBOs. Scanias made a comeback to service 852 whereas Lances were withdrawn.
June 2008: Lances were back to service 852 under WLDEP during the massive swop of buses between depots.

Service 187 was initially under dual KJDEP/WLDEP controlled, it was in July 1999 during the 1st phase SBS/Tibs swop which made service 187 full WLDEP. DAFs made a perm disappearance on service 187 then.

In the past WLDEP controlled some Yishun bus services, reason was because AMDEP got to focus more on NE areas like 82, 103, 163, 864, 865, 866 etc. Whereas KJDEP focused on Woodlands and Bt Panjang services. WLDEP was just like a neutral empire to both sides having majority services under dual WLDEP controlled.
It was because of the merger with SMRT and also the Tibs/SBS swop, major depot deployments took place in 1999/2000 as follows:-
Also to note that service 852 was one of the odd-ball Yishun services to be under full KJDEP in the past with other Yishun services under full AMDEP.
When some UDs went for lay-up for 178 and 852, Hispano OACs and CACs from KJDEP and AMDEP replaced them in tmp. basis. That time, Scanias were still under KJDEP 75/700/970.
Then, 178 and 852 got back the Scania fleets when they x-fered back to WLDEP. And some of Hispanos went back to KJDEP in temp. basis whereas the rest went SPARE in WLDEP. 772M and 773K swopped with 666L and 667J, 479K went to perm 963, 781L went to perm 966. There was no mercz fleet on 178 after that.

Even after 178's mercz has been depleted in the first Q of 09, was it a common thing after that? remembered 178 receiving mercz cameos like quite common though after oct 09, before that not really common.
Anyway, Can expect to see more than a quarter of mercz going around on 178 like nobody's business though today, even though no perms are deployed.
Anyway, how many fleets did 851,853,854,855 receive when they were in WLDEP?
It used to be a common sight after the removal of some TIB/CSS rego Nissans from 178 and 852. It's only a while when both svcs were using mercs when its SP Nissans were deployed only to 178 and sometimes alternate to 187 and 852.
851, 853, 854, 855 did use Scania Striders too, when some of its AMDEP Striders were transferred to WLDEP.

How common can it get? as in within 5 days or half a week?

Remembered the time that I took 40 mins ride at CSS191X on 187 to home from WRI during night. Very breezy.

All these services used to have perm Scanias before. I also recalled TIB564Y and TIB565U perm WLDEP 854 before the SBS/Tibs swop.

A month or so, before another depot transfer exercise took place with more OCs awaiting to be dispatched.

Then slowly, the latter of the Scania (Strider) were transferred to WLDEP.
When some of its 1st batch of Scanias xfered to WLDEP, some of those Scanias were still in AMDEP, and normally did 82, 103, 163, 860, 864, 865.

Service 103 was returned to SBS and all the AMDEP Scanias went over to service 852. The last AMDEP Scanias were seen on 852, 853 and 980. The UK lances then replaced all the Scanias on these 3 services in mid 2000 and eventually all the Scania fleets went over to WLDEP.
Service 59 and 163 had full fleet Scania perms, it was later the 1st few services to get UMW lances.
Scanias on services 860, 864, 865 were just cameos only, not perm.

For me, I once took CSS179H on 925, about two years ago..
I was browsing through some blogs with old images of Singapore and i came upon this:
I checked it with the current map(s) and apparently the old SBS Woodlands Depot is now where Kranji MRT Station stands. I wish to enquire more about this depot. Does this depot controls Svc 170 fleet in the past?

170 used to be from Woodlands Depot. Earlier version of Leyland Atlanteans were assembled at the former Woodlands Depot.

Tibs 103 was full O405s (OAC + NAC) until the Scania Striders (670Z - 674M) came in to replace the OAC O405s. The sole Elbo on 103 835R didn't last very long and was then redeployed to 851. Then Lances came in new to 103, of which only 910G was equiped with EDS. Other Lances using plastic destos were mainly the 92x series ones. The longest surviving O405s on Tibs 103 were 780P - 784D. 784D had some Jalan Kayu prata ad iirc.
But what I noticed was that amdep deployed new models on Jalan Kayu services then. 865 was full OAC O405s.
