Indeed, everything else stays the same even after branding 400, 401 and 403 as Parks services, and they were quickly renamed as trunk services in order to qualify them for fare reduction for basic services, before the reductions for basic plus services were finalised a few days before they came into effect in Apr 2009.
Actually, 401 is categorised as a weekend trunk service.
The SBS Express Services 501, 502, 503 & TIBS Express 520 were introduced on 5th May 1997 as part of the extension of the Road Pricing Scheme and the introduction of more Park-And-Ride carparks in areas such as Boon Lay Ave, Clementi, Hougang Central, Eunos, Simei, Ang Mo Kio, Bukit Batok & Yew Tee.

--story from fren
Svc 170 trips sometimes go into the depot to refuel.
Some even went to the workshop area to fix advertisements. imagine paxs still onbaord and the mechanics banging the bus side with hammers to fix a advertisement
fun fun fun
always a chance to visit the depot in such situations.

Ah, yes. I definitely remember the 'pit-stop' at Woodlands Depot. Last time, Woodlands Depot was where they assembled buses and you could see the new buses being built from the refuelling point. After taking fuel, the bus will make one big loop before going out and you can see the buses parked inside. Those were the good ol' days indeed. It would be unthinkable if such things were to happen today.

St Michael's Bus Services used to be entirely from HGDEP..
With the removal of LO2x from AMDEP/SLBP, the VO2x from AMDEP (70, 107, 186)/HGDEP (74, 322)/BNDEP (35, 222, 291, 359) were thrown to SLBP.. a few from BBDEP also went to SLBP

YIO CHU KANG TERMINAL - THE STORY
The Yio Chu Kang Terminal was constructed under the MRT viaduct track in 1985/86 and begin its commission as a bus terminal with boarding berths in 1987, which later serves the first 5 pioneered stations that were opened in Nov 1987 - Toa Payoh, Braddell, Bishan, Ang Mo Kio & Yio Chu Kang.
Its first service that terminates at Yio Chu Kang Terminal was Service 73, which was actually amended to Yio Chu Kang from Toa Payoh, on which it was previously a loop service from Toa Payoh to Old Upp Thomson Rd. Alternate services would be 71 from Geylang Firnge CP to Old Upp Thomson Rd
When the new Yishun satellite new town was under development, TIBS has started its new temporary service, SS1 from Yio Chu Kang to Yishun. This will provide linkage for new Yishun residents who were heading to and from Yio Chu Kang MRT until the Norh-South Line extended to Yishun.
Sooner, more services were amended to the Yio Chu Kang Terminal.
Service 13 previously serves Ghim Moh to Bedok was ameneded to Yio CHu Kang teminal, and thereafter, it was extended to Marine Parade. With the closure of Marina Parade Ter, it was amended to loop at Siglap Rd before it was amended again to Upp East Coast Ter when it opened in 2002
Service 70 previously serves Jln Kayu to Shenton Way was amended to Yio Chu Kang Terminal, followed up by amendments of Service 72 in 1992. Later on, Service 70# was introduced only on Weekday Night, Saturday, Sundays & PHs. 70# was then extended to Suntec City in 2000 and known as 70X. In 2001, it was amended to Yio CHu Kang Rd & Boundry Rd and was amended again to Serangoon Ctrl in 2003. 70X was renumbered to 70M
Service 72 was introduced in 1996 as a weekday peak hour service from Yio Chu Kang - Ang mo Kio Ave 5. It was integrated with Service 80 and extended to Tampines, and converts into a full days service.
Service 73 was then amended to loop at Serangoon North Ave 4 from Toa Payoh
Service 76 was introduced as Yio Chu Kang - Marine Parade service. In 1993, it was amended to Tg katong Rd and amended to loop at Siglap Link when Marine Parade Terminal closed.
Service 138 was introduced as Yio Chu Kang - Singapore Zoo on 1 May 1994. However, to better serve passengers in Ang Mo Kio New Town, the service was amended to Ang Mo Kio Int on 1st Oct 1994, when 171 was made to skip Mandai Lake Rd and continue its route to Marina Centre / Yishun.
Service 162 was introduced as Yio Chu KAng - Shenton Way loop service on 25 Feb 2001 with a variant of Service 162#. IN Dec 2001, the service was amended to terminate at Shenton Way Ter. 162# was known as 162M

Service SS1 was withdrawn with the opening of the MRT line to Yishun.
I think it is also noteworthy to state that 162 was initially introduced as a limited stop service, which was soon after converted :)

we urge folks to not call all 40x as Parks services. They are known as recreational services.
408 and 409 are the only ones to be Parks services.
at one time 401 was a parks services as evident from the bus hand outs in 2007 or 8 but later revised back as a recreational service.
all recreational service have their own fare systems be it trunk or flat fare? or simply Parks fare.
