Yes, and that's how 197 extended from Lor 1 Geylang to Bedok.

For your statement, there are two errors.
Service 242 (the first amended route) already existed when it was introduced. In 1993, it was then amended to Upp Jurong Rd. It was then amended back in 1994.
Service 243 did not existed in 1992 back then. It was introduced in 1993. In 1994 it was then amended to JW Street 75 & 81.
If you refer to the 1992 Transitlink service guide Sv 243 has already existed serving routes similar to today's 242.
As for 242, all I can say is that according to 1992's Transitlink bus guide it served Upp Jurong Road and Pioneer Road North instead of Jurong West St 72 and Ave 5.

Someone tell me that 243 was introduced in 1993. I don't know who is it.
I need to ask a few questions about Bukit Panjang Bus Services:
1. The old service 5 (withdrawn in 1999) used to ply a part of Pending Rd, right? And what I know about this road is the name was changed to Bt Panjang Rd. Why?
2. Before 921 merged with 700/700A to ply Dairy Farm Rd and Petir Rd, where did the original part of 700/700A ply?
omg what happened to this bus?!

for qn 2...i guess it went via bukit panjang rd before going into BKE...

If I am not wrong 782J and 762S were perms before it changed to 980.
One OAC merc perm, TIB808U. Initially was under KJDEP controlled, then it followed on to WLDEP. Withdrawn from service 980 when it went under full AMDEP controlled in Jul 1999 due to Tibs/SBS swop.
TIB762S and TIB782J were NAC buses then, it did service 160 under AMDEP only for a few months in 1998.

Looks like this is taken in the 1970s. From the rims, it looks like an Albion Viking.![]()

This make this even confusing.
What's happening to SBS8533C? What is he doing when I asked him to put in the history of Harbourfront (WTC) services two weeks ago?

Seems like 160*,178 and 852 always gets their fleet played around with though, 178 and 852 has 3.
*currently 980, my bad for not reading properly.

I mean, the bus is in the past, for me, I don't know what is happening, the only thing I know is the bus suffered a breakdown and its wheels were sent to be repaired.
May I ask, where did the buses of old 900, old 901, old 902, 904, 905 & 906 go after they were merged into 911, 912 & 913? Did it remain in 911 & 912 & 913? Or it go to other bus services?

Some of the NAC Mercs stayed on the intra-town bus services together with the OAC Mercs (feeders when merge to become intra-town were converted to PAC). I can't remember the rest but I am very sure that the old Japanese NAC buses were withdrawn from the feeders and deregistered around that time.

I still remember service 160 at that time, initially TIB762S and TIB782J were planned to replace the NAC Nissan U31 SCNs which were initially to be deregistered in Jul 1998. After Tibs extended the lifespan of the SCNs from 12 to 15 years, TIB762S and TIB782J were withdrawn from 160 and replaced by TIB334U and TIB335S instead
. Again the deployment was reshuffled when WLDEP opened in Oct 1998, service 160 started getting ELBO perms from AMDEP.
Did UD ever cameo on KJDEP svc like 77, 106, 189, 925 bef?

So when 160 re-numbered to 980 was it still the same?

Thanks. One more question to ask:
Is the Mercs an O405? If it is, were some of the Mercs replaced by a bendy version of it on 911, 912 & 913 due to high demand of the bus services?
