Was SBS 9C based on Hougang or Ang Mo Kio??? It was a training bus in Ang Mo Kio depot before it left Singapore.
I thought SBS 9C was sold to New Zealand??? ![]()

To Guschong, i will post up the Jurong & Boon Lay ones if i got the time.
He means about Hino HS3KRK buses, but you are mentioning about DAF SB220 buses. Also, I don't recall that there is Hispano-bodied Hino buses...all Hino buses were Volgren-bodied.

Okay, I had no problem to wait for the histories to be put in.

SBS9C was based on Hougang, as stated by SBS8533C which served 111 & 118 in Hougang.
SBS9C was indeed sold to New Zealand, in 1997/1998.
When Service 163 was under TIBS, what buses did it used? And it is under SBST, which What regos were assigned to it's current fleet?

Tibs Scania Striders were deployed when service 163 was handed over to Tibs in Dec 1995.
Perm fleets: TIB651D TIB652B TIB653Z TIB654X TIB655T TIB656 TIB670Z.
In 1998, Tibs rolled in the 1st batch of UMW Dennis Lances and were then deployed to service 163, whereas the Scanias were progressively transferred to the newly opened WLDEP.
Perm fleets: TIB912B TIB913Z TIB914X TIB915T TIB916R TIB917M TIB918K
Service 163 was returned to SBST controlled in Dec 1999 due to the NEL merger. Can't remember the fleet then, I remember SBS576G and SBS3832Y were among the perms.
In Dec 2003, service 163 under went full fleet deployments from AMDEP to HGDEP when route was extended to Sengkang from Jln Kayu. It then operated with full Volvo MK3/4 fleets with SBS1688K joining in the fleet from Mar 2005.
Scania K230UBs were also introduced from 2008 onwards, that was when all the MK3s and some MK4s were removed from 163's fleet. Current fleet as follows:

"How did Bukit Merah services came about?"
============================================================
let's emphasise about the late 1970s till the 1980s of the Bt maerh, Services
Bukit Merah Services were quite sketchy in the past, compared to the 1971 re-organisation. They were terminating in different parts of Jln Bukit Merah like Service 50 from Kaki Bukit Malay Settlement (Jln Eunos) to Jln Bukit Merah (near Henderson Rd) and Service 65 from MacPherson to Jln Bukit Merah (near Henderson Rd). Those services were clustered in different locations making it inconvenient for other passengers, which began a critical point to re-organise its Bt Merah services into one interchange, so the need of a centralised bus service hub is needed for Bukit Merah. The Bukit Merah Interchange was completed and commence operations in 1980.
More feeders were added for the Bukit Merah areas. This allows residents from both estates to have direct and convenient links to the town centres of Bukit Mearh rather than taking its regular trunk services to get around and a walking distance just to get to the town centres. Off peak wastage could be a possible reason as to why certain services are taking a long time to arrive at the bus stops.

When Service 159 was intro, it was full AMDEP right, after that when it was extanded to Sengkang, it was HG/AM or BR or BRBP then to full HGDEP?
If I'm not wrong, literally CSS 5 & CSS 9 merged at e Bt Merah leg.

Sv 159 used to be full AMDEP when it was introduced. When 159 extended to SKG, it was still under AMDEP till 2005, when it became HGDEP, with the introduction of new Service 57.

It was under HGDEP for 111 & 118 and then went over to BNDEP for 3 before heading over to AMDEP for TRG

Service 159 when extended to Sengkang in mid 2001 was dual AMDEP/HGDEP controlled. Because of service 163 which was also extended to Sengkang in late 2002 and made full HGDEP, 159 went back to full AMDEP instead and became a looping point at Sengkang.
In 2005 service 159 went over to HGDEP once again, this time round full control. At the same time HGDEP 159 buses terminate at Sengkang instead of loop point.

Both Tibs services 161 and 850 were withdrawn in 1992. Basically both routes were integrated to amended service 167 then.

Ya, I remembered those sunny yellow Tibs buses in Toa Payoh back then. All these came to history when 163 was handed back to SBS in late 1999.

167 used to have full fleet Merc 0405s way back then, from both AMDEP and KJDEP (be it OAC or NAC).

SBS582M all the way to SBS 996C should be available on LTA website their infomation should be available on the LTA website.
As for SBS999U should be around 06 reason should be the space though.
582 - 881 will be your fave MKIIIs.
882 - 996 will be the MKIV DMs.
997A is the Superlong
998Y is the MKIV Artic
999U is the 0405G.
The latter 2 have been sold to New Zealand, while it appears that nobody still wants to purchase 997A despite years of indications of wanting to sell this bus.![]()

The majority was Scania buses indeed, but I did remember seeing a Mercedes MB O405 doing the route too, likely as a cameo. Can't remember any Dennis Lance buses on them though.
