If not wrong, it went via Corporation Rd, Jalan Ahmad Ibrahim, same with 196. I remember that 197 went through Jurong East/West Ave 1, then Jurong town Hall Road, AYE.

So, you are referring to 198 going to Boon Lay before Jurong East?

Note that there were 2 terminus in that area - Jln Eunos End Terminal and the another at Jln Perwira. Jln Eunos End Terminal was only formed as part of the 1971 re-organisation.
In the pre-1971 bus re-organisation, its routes were served by Changi Bus Co Ltd, Routes 3 and 3A.
Route 3 from Guillemard Rd (near Lim Ah Woo Rd) to Kg Batak (part of Kaki Bukit Malay settlement and also located off Jln Eunos)
Route 3A uses buses from Route 3 and diverts its route via Jln Abadi, Jln Damai and return back to Guillemand Rd.
- services in 1971 -

50 - To lengkok bahru
50A - To Stamford Rd (loop)
From Jln Eunos End terminus
51 - To Alexandra Rd (near pasir Panjang RD)
52 - To Anson Rd (Tg Pagar)
In 1974, there were only minor changes to its Eunos services, leaving the 3 reamining services serving in the Eunos village area
50A was renumbered to 53
52 was withdrawn.
- services in 1978 -
50 - Kaki Bukit Malay Settlement to Jln Bt Merah (it was amended to Sims Ave / Paya Lebar Rd and subsequently extended to Jln Bt Merah)
51 - Jln Eunos End to Alexandra Rd
53 - Kaki Bukit Malay Settlement to Alexandra Rd (it was extended to Jln Bukit Merah previously in the 1974 rationalisation.)
It was slated that the Eunos Malay Settlement is to be re-zoned for high rise housing development in the 1980s as well as the MRT line. As Jln Perwira acquired for the redevelopment, the terminus has to be closed down and 50 and 51 were amended to Jln Eunos Terminal. By the time, service 50 was amended to Bukit Merah while 51 amended to Labrador Ter. As more villages in the Eunos were cleared, the service still terminate at the Jln Eunos Ter and was eventually termiantes at the new Eunos Ter in 1986 (the current interchange located near the Eunos MRT). On the same year, Service 54 from Hougang to Eunos (loop) was introduced to create new links to Hougang but it was integrated with service 51. Service 51 was then extended to Hougang and then to Jurong east with its closure of Labrador Ter. A new feeder service 382 connects to Ubi Ave 1 (loop) followed by 385 which goes to Bedok Reservoir Rd (loop). It was said that service 50 was withdrawn in the late 1980s.

60 - Service introduced from Eunos to Bedok (Loop), merger of 226 and 385. Red and white plates were introduced, when the service was enhanced to serve Bedok Reservoir Rd.

154 - Eunos to Boon Lay
I will first talk about Eunos services in 70s to 80s.
50 / 50A starts from Jln Perwira Ter, respectively to Lengkok Bahru & Stamford Rd. In 1974, 50A was renumbered 53.
51 & 52 starts from Jln Eunos, 51 to Alexandra Rd and 52 to Shenton Way. With many services to the city from Eunos, 52 was withdrawn.
50 was extended to Bukit Merah, while 51 remained unchanged. If I recall, the service 53 there was withdrawn in 1983 due to duplication of 50.
51 was then extended to Labrador Ter. By 1986, both terminal had close down and the two services were amended to the new terminal. A new service 54 to Hougang was introduced in 1986 too, but in 1987, it was merged with 51, thus it was extended to Hougang South, after then it was merged with 192 to Jurong East in 1988. And now, the only service left there is 50.
The terminal had to be upgraded to accomodate more services in Eunos, and by 1990, the upgrade was complete and service 50 stayed at Eunos Int for a while before its withdrawal.
(For information about the services after 1990 to the current time, see below post)

Now let's talk about the services & changes after 1990.
Other than 50, feeder services 382 & 385 were introduced to Ubi & Bedok Reservoir Rd respectively. Service M4 to Marine Parade was also introduced. Also, Macpherson Bus Terminal closed and 61 & 154 were extended to Eunos, to Bukit Batok & Boon Lay / Jurong respectively. 94 was then introduced soon after to Airport Road. 13 was also amended to operate from Eunos.
In 1993, under the 1993 bus rationalisation, 93 was shortened from Paya Lebar Airbase to the interchange, replaced by 94, whose timings were changed to day service.
In 1995, a new service 15 was introduced to cater residents from Eunos to Kaki Bukit & Pasir Ris to Temasek Polytechnic.
In 1997, service M4 was withdrawn after merger with 15. 13 was also amended to Marine Parade, making 15 to ply Marine Parade Rd only.
Currently, in 2000s, 382 & 385 were withdrawn, after merger to become 60 & 63 that will be terminating at Eunos.

Yes. 198 was shifted to start from Boon Lay before it was amended to Jurong East.
Sv 93 & 94's amendment came as a package
Sv 90, 92, 93, 94
92 was integrated into Sv 14 & part of Sv 65. I'm not too sure is it 14 or 123's. Sv 90 was introduced to cover part of Sv 92's route.
Sv 93 was extended to Eunos. Sv 94 became Day Service.

During 1993 rationalisation 123 (then a New Bridge Road - Tomlimson Rd (loop) service) was extended on both ends from Bt Merah to Bt Purmei Ave (Loop) and replace 14's route from Bt Merah Int to Orchard Rd while 14 was integrated with 92 to become Bedok - Clementi Service.
To put it this way also, then 92's route from Clementi Int to Orchard Rd (Douby Ghaut) portion is the same as current 14's route.

He tell me that he means that 197 & 198 didn't ply Boon Lay Interchange at the same time before.
By the way, maybe 198 was shortened in Nov / Dec 1991 to Jurong East, and then returned back to the current route in 1992.

Yeap 123 was initially a St. Michael's to New Bridge Road loop service but during the 1993 rationalisation 124 (which plies Thomson Rd and Stevens Rd before amendment) took over its sectors from St Michael's to Scotts Road and 123 was shortened to plies between New Bridge Road and Tomlinson Road.
However a couple of months later after the first amendment, it was amended again, intergrating with 14's sector from Bukit Merah and Orchard Road and at the same time, extended to loop at Bukit Purmei Avenue instead of terminating/looping at New Bridge Road.

Service 105 - To Serangoon. In 1992, merged with 312 and amended to Serangoon Ave 2 & 3. Later, when 104 was shortened to Bishan, amended to Lor Chuan and extended to Jurong East.

Service 10 was amended to Clementi on the day Jurong int was closed down in 1990. Cutback again to terminate at Kent Ridge in Mar 1998 when SBS introduced new service 188 from CCK to Harbourfront (eventually handed over to Tibs/SMRT).
Service 165 never plied to Boon Lay before. Instead it was amended to Clementi via Clementi Ave 3. Same goes to service 196 which was also amended to Clementi when Jurong int closed down.
Service 104 never terminate at Bishan. It was plying between Serangoon to New Bridge Rd then. There was another service 134 which plied between Bishan to New Bridge Road too. Both of these services were withdrawn in late 1993 and part of their routes were covered by the newly introduced services 54 and 156. Bus services could have been better now if it is still under SBS.
Also add on Volvo B57s and Volvo B10M MK2 WAs into service 190's fleet.
And when 190 was converted to PAC - Merc 0405s came into the fleet, followed by MK3s and LO3x/VO3x. Striders also did 190 if I remembered correctly.

165 & 196 did go to Boon Lay before. If you want evidence, you can ask everyone else. I even thought 10 also goes to Boon Lay before.
As for the 105 thing, I make a wrong typo, because I actually was wanting to write as there was an amendment to 104 in 1992. Actuallly, 104 starts off as a Serangoon - Upp Cross St. In 1992 it was then amended to New Bridge Road, also it swapped route with 105 to ply Ang Mo Kio Ave 1 & Bishan Road instead of Lor Chuan.

196 served Boon Lay from Jul 1990 to Jun 1992, before it was shortened to Buona Vista when 148 was introduced. In Nov 1992, it was then amended to Clementi to replace withdrawn 148.
165 only serve Boon Lay for a week, from 1 Jul 1990 to 6 Jul 1990, after then it was amended to Clementi.
Service 196, 197 and 198
According to my 1992 bus guide,
196: Marine Parade - Boon Lay via AYE, Jalan Ahmad Ibrahim, Corporation Rd, Boon Lay Way, Jurong West Central 2, 3, Boon Lay int.
197: Bedok - Boon Lay via AYE, Jurong Town Hall Rd, Jurong East Ave 1, Jurong West Ave 1, Corporation Rd, Boon Lay Ave, Jln Boon Lay, Boon Lay Way, Jurong West Central 2, 3, Boon Lay int.
198: Jurong East - Sims Place
On 28 June 1992, the following amendments were made to these 3 services:
196: Shortened to become Marine Parade - Buona Vista
197: Shortened to become Bedok - Jurong East, deleted sector between Boon Lay interchange and Jurong Town Hall Rd replaced by service 198
198: Amended to become Boon Lay - Bukit Merah, deleted sector between Sims Place and Alexandra Rd replaced by service 64.
(Service 64 was previously MacPherson terminal - Mei Chin Rd loop via MacPherson estate, Aljunied Rd, MacPherson Rd, Bendemeer Rd, Jln Besar, Bencoolen St, Orchard Rd, Penang Rd, Somerset Rd, Grange Rd, Orchard Boulevard, Grange Rd, Tanglin Rd, Alexandra Rd, Commonwealth Ave, Stirling Rd, Mei Chin Rd, Mei Ling St, Mei Chin Rd, Queensway and loop back)
Sv 165 was extended to Boon Lay until MRT commencement a week later.
I did remember 196 & 197 extended to Boon Lay (as in basis e other end is not affected). Kinda messy, because the changes all circled around e developed town/ neighbourhood of N2, N3, N4, N5.
I believe Sv 64 was made to replace 198's Eastern leg because of duplication w/ 111.

2) So, the 148 was introduced on 28 Jun 1992 from Clementi - Lor 1 Geylang?

Service 54 basically covered service 134's route from Bishan to Upp Thomson Rd and also service 104's route from Scotts Road to New Bridge Rd (except the Clemenceau Rd and Upp Cross St part, 54 passes by Liang Court instead).
Service 156 was introduced as a Serangoon to Clementi route and it covers the withdrawn service 104's route from Serangoon to Thomson Rd PIE sector, after which it serves as a new link to Clementi via Bt Timah, Sixth Ave and Ulu Pandan. It also covers service 74's route (which was amended to Buona Vista) along Clementi Ave 2. In Aug 2001 service 156 was extended to Sengkang interchange.
