Haze won't make the picture pixelated. The auto settings made the picture pixelated, but can't blame it as he uses free hand.

High ISO. It's a tradeoff between (less) motion blur and a (more) grainy photo.

For a first timer your photos are not bad. Still got room for improvements though. Improve on your sunlight that would be fine.
