Now its not only AMDEP. WLDEP also has them; TIB1049L has been spotted with the new info panel today ... ...
Weirdly it is able to change colour for different annoucements; the info will show red wordings for next stop annoucements, green and orange for some other annoucement (cannot remember what are those)

Orange is for "Welcome Onboard". It will be displayed when the entrance opens. I think this is a RGB system similar to the Y2K Kawasaki Trains. I wonder if the train STARIS has the same ability.

Using SMRT Buses under AMDEP only.
Info by TIB433S : The front EDS displays FERRY SERVICE with normal paper on the front holder, shows which MRT Station the shuttle serves
There is a old 1980s-1990s tamil movie which is filmed in Singapore that is being put on Vasantham channel now.A lot of old SBS buses were featured in the movie especially Leyland Atlanteans at Orchard Rd and another place which looks like Bishan. And they took a ride on the MRT from City Hall also. Then after that there was a Leyland SD on 111.Think it was a Leyland Victory? Then there was another scene showing a NAC DM MK2.The MK2 scene is yet to come and would be coming soon now.Not sure wat place is that but it looks like City Hall also.
Just a few mins ago at Geylang in a song,a SBS Nissan was featured.Wonder wat svc was it????Any history expert here care to share? It would be more interesting to know more abt the SBS UDs :)
When watching this movie, got a chance to see our old SBS buses in action and it brings back all the good old buses memories and the memories of the olden days :(
...that not only SMRT Buses have Mobitec...even Sentosa has it too..

I only know for a fact that 15 was the last revenue user for the UDs right up to the early 2000s. And that they spent their remaining days after that was HG trainers...
Don't know if that's entirely correct though.

1. SBS didn't buy any Leyland Victories; those were only popular with HK bus companies. What you saw was most probably a Leyland Atlantean. In total, SBS purchased over 520 of them.
2. The SBS Nissan is of the model U31SCN (not to be confused with SMRT's U31RCN).

SBS use to have the Leyland Victories but single decks only. Whereas in HK they have double deck version for it.

I admit it's my mistake.
According to SgWiki,
6590A - 6597G Guy Victory (Soon Chow body)
6603Y - 6616K Guy Victory (Soon Chow body)
6621U - 6638Y Guy Victory (Soon Chow body)
6658P - 6673U Guy Victory (Soon Chow body)
6681X - 6775J Guy Victory (NAC and CAC mixed, Soon Chow/BAco body mixed)
But still, this "Did you know" thread helped me to learn facts about buses better.
