  TIB523R displays "FERRY SERVICE" on its EDS when this bus serves the CCK / Bt Batok to IKEA Alexandra Shuttle.
  
  Btw it's confirmed that TIB523R is a perm on the shuttle.

  Knew that since last month :P Anyway, there is one time whereby a Dennis Lance UMW (should be either TIB914X or TIB915T) replaced 523's slot for the whole day le. EDS also displayed as FERRY SERVICE.

  SBS140E,TIB740E and TIB1140E r all the same alphabets wat.If TIB1140E was reg wrongly,then SBS140E and TIB740E r also wrong as well??Cannot be wat.I dun see wat is wrong in TIB1140E..

  whatever the case they cant register wrong.

  they only can put wrong rego ._.

  like was the case with SBS8290C i think. it became G.

  The proper way of calculating the checksum is as follows:

  Say you have a rego: ABC1234 _ where the blank represents the checksum to be solved.

  Ignore A, and concentrate on the other characters.

  For postions B & C: The alphabet in positions B & C carries a value, which corresponds to their postion in the English alphabet, ie A=1, Z=26

  For postion B, Mutiply it by 9, For position C: Mulitply it by 4

  For positions 1, 2, 3 and 4, the weights (ie the number you need to multiply) are 5, 4, 3 and 2 respectively.

  Then add every number up.

  Then divide the sum of the numbers by 19.

  Then use the remainder to determine the check letter:

  0: A
  1: Z
  2: Y
  3: X
  4: U
  5: T
  6: S
  7: R
  8 :P
  9: M
  10: L
  11: K
  12: J
  13: H
  14: G
  15: E
  16: D
  17: C
  18: B

  And you will get the rego.

  Say you have SBS9455 and you don't know the alphabet:
  
  Mulitply the value of B with the weight: ie 2 (value) x 9 (weight) = 18
  
  Then mulitply the value of S with the weight: ie 19 (value) x 4 (weight) = 76

  Then muliply 9 with 5, 4 with 4, 5 with 3 and 5 with 2, you will get 45, 16, 15 and 10 respectively.

  Add all the values up, 18 + 76 + 45 + 16 + 15 + 10 = 180

  Divide 180 by 19, you will get a remainder of 9.

  Check with the corresponding alphabet: 9 = M.

  And there you get it. SBS9455M.

  You may like to do yourself an excel sheet for this, so as to make your life easier when it comes to caclulating checksum. Otherwise, you may like to search the web for excel sheets made by others for computation of rego and NRIC.

  My friend reminded me about this yesterday..

  241's 1 year annivesary since 15 March 2009. For the past 367 days of operating, it's service fleet had

  • Added 1 extra bus, P shift (SBS 3724B).
  • Swapped 2 single decked to double decked, (SBS 430T, SBS 180P) to (SBS 9100L, SBS 9109M).
  • Fleet upgrade (3 MB 0405 to 3 K230UB), (SBS 418E, SBS 3724B, SBS 3820G) to (SBS 8891T, SBS 8613E, SBS 8899Y).
  • Fleet exchange due to some issues (SBS 9187L, SBS 9156B) to (SBS 9080K(SBS 9155D- for a while), SBS 9078T).
  • Added 4 and 2 crossovers from service 179 during peak hrs. 
  • Fleet upgrade (SBS 9080K , SBS 9100L) to (SBS 9363U, SBS 9496U).
  • 1 extra buses, 1 S shift (SBS 5001R) .  

  Observed the rise in demand rapidly.
