it did affect to some extent.. SBST cut some morning runs on 74 sometime after the NP shuttle to Hougang started.. These buses now do P shift only. I hope with the AMK route they wont cut the morning runs further.. -

I hope with the AMK route they wont cut the morning runs further..I've been noticing that around the 6+ to 7+ period, 74 leaves at about 2 to 4 minutes a bus during poly sch days, but when it reaches the 9+ period, there is a big gap between buses, as high as 30 minutes wait.
Was at HG waiting for 74, not even 1 bus, 18 minutes later, 995E comes in, departs about 12 minutes later.. The 9+am period is quite bad..

Sv 170 blue plate also operate from Larkin terminal to Kranji MRT. Spotted SBS799 from Larkin terminal travelling to Kranji (side desto - terminate Kranji MRT , front desto -blue 170 desto).. i think this should be short trip for red plate 170 but they choose to put blue plate on desto, so that passenger know straight away that it terminate at Kranji MRT...
btw, this bus travel/clear the JB/Sin custom faster than a normal passenger car.. This bus reach Kranji Mrt earlier than the car that i was in, even though both the car/bus turn into JB custom at the same time.

SMB5Y dont do 172 on fridays.... i always see it doing other services like 75 & 176 or even 307 on fridays especially ( except PH)

bus clearenace is faster during off-peak

If it is from Kranji, it ends at JB custom and goes off svc to Larkin. -

Guys your know the frequence for 240 is getting worsen and worsen.? I happen to take 240 today and it was like.... I first arrive at berth 6 at 8.27pm. the front bus left 2 min ago which is 8.25pm. The next timing show 8.33pm. when it time for the bus to arrive, i was sad to see no bus and the Next bus display jump to 8.41pm. Again i wait and when 8.41pm came again there was no bus and the display jump to 8.49pm. Only when it around 8.50pm then came 3920 when is on 240. This is the emergency replacement bus i think cause there was no side desto. SBS only bother to find a replacement after letting people waiting for 20 mins? and somemore feeder services(the display tv never put delay, which it dose for some service if their bus is delay). I overheard people complaining about this service as i was waiting with them.

170 red/blue plate has a very complicating way of operations.. You should try asking the ground staff how they operate.. These guys are better than OCC at ground bus despatching.. -

Did the return route have some obstruction on the road somewhere somehow that made buses inpassable or something?

Very few people would head towards Kotaraya II. The plate still shows Kotaraya II, but most 170 blue plates will flip the plate to Kranji MRT after Malaysia Customs and then run empty to Larkin. Most people from Malaysia side would board from Larkin terminal.
Kotaraya II is mainly served by 160, though a few 170 blue plates will still head there.
One green-man told me it is okay to obtain a ticket from 170/170X at Malaysia Customs for a trip that ends with 160 (e.g. Jurong East).

in the morning peak, many 170B will operate from Kranji >> Larkin... if you want to go Kota Raya, need to wait very long for 160 or the original 170B. the 170B will make a return trip to Kranji
evening peak, only 170R goes to Larkin (iirc). most 170B will U-turn back to Kranji after clearing JB Customs. to go to Kota Raya, again, wait for 160 or a long wait for 170B
bus clears faster because bus lanes are dedicated, and theres less checks...
170 is probably the most flexible service in SBS! -

Yes. I am a regular bus commuter of Service 240. Sometimes, its frequencies are very horrible. Once, when I was waiting for Service 240 after school, SBS8931L came and it was super-crowded, and within seconds, SBS8932J came with the bus empty. However, I flagged the bus too late and ended up taking Service 246 home.
