SBS7360R has the same one too. i think quite some B9s have their door closing chime changed due to the old ones being faulty.

... that sbst's Citaros uses LAWO's HighLED led display?
HighLED is basically a higher resolution EDS with 26 rows and 216 columns of LED (26x216)
Benefit which appears on the smrt Citaros on the other hand, has a lower resolution at only 16 rows and 196 columns of LED (16x196)

Ah, no wonder I notice that LED on the SBST Citaros are slightly smaller.
And the EDS controller for SBST Citaros is Luminator ODK4.

That's pretty weird. Although Lawo and Luminator co-exist under the same parent company (Luminator Technology Group), but they have their own series of products. Can their products interoperate this way?
Also, anyone can confirm if the display is even made by Lawo? But however, Luminator does not have a display with 26 rows of leds.
Are Lawo and Luminator under the same group or different manufacturers? They appear to be entirely two different types of entities. Their websites are not the same either. If SBS Transit Citaros are using Lawo Benefit, Lawo has only two different types of controller for their EDS. On the SBS Transit's Citaro controller bears the Luminator trademark, not Lawo. For SMRT Buses's Citaro, yes, the EDS controller bears the Lawo trademark. I suppose they are two different manufacturers. You can even see the difference in size of the SBS Transit's Citaro and SMRT Buses Citaro EDS. Unless it is possible, say for example, you use Mobitec EDS but use Lawo controller.

They are different companies with a different set of products, but they have a technology working group between themselves (which means they probably share r&d info amongst themselves).
This is where im stumped too, either the controller can interoperate with LAWO displays, or simply the sbst's eds is a custom display manufactured by Luminator (because Luminator's series of products does not have any led that has 26 rows yet).

Yep, it's made by LAWO, rear EDS has a LAWO sticker.

Lawo and Luminator are distinctly different entities yet affiliated with one another through the same parent. It is likely that they pool their resources together in the R&D aspects as mentioned by Bus Stopping. Luminator is primarily based in the USA whereas Lawo focuses more on Europe, Germany in particular.
Do remember that the Hispano O405s use Lawo-Luminator-Europa EDS. Thus it is also possible for their products to be operated interchangeably (why not, especially when the fundamental components of the products could be largely the same?)
Originally posted by Bus Stopping:... that sbst's Citaros uses LAWO's HighLED led display? Sorry, unconfirmed for the time being, waiting confirmation if EDS is indeed made by LAWO or Luminator. However, the EDS does indeed come with 26 rows of LEDs

but page on HighLED also states that...
"High-resolution LED display with up to three lines of text"

Yes, its theoretically possible to display up to 3 lines of text. If u look carefully at lawo eds on OCs and smrt citaros, each character takes 7 rows of pixels(leds) to display. Another way to explain this is that for displaying legible text on the EDS, it requires at least 7 rows of pixels(leds).
So given a 26 horizontal pixel(leds) EDS display, you can squeeze up to 3 lines of text (7x3 + 2 spacer rows). However, this will result in smaller text and you probably wont be able to see it from as far.
Anyway, i guess the most reasonable conclusion now is that the sbst citaros uses lawo's HighLED display (because of the 26rows of leds, and the eds being confirmed to be made by lawo) and the controller by Luminator is able to operate interchangeably as mentioned by SBS9818A.
If there's any updates by anyone, do post back. Cheers ![]()

basically, "buses.sgforums.com" URL doesn't work anymore?
