160 and 170 (Blue Plate) can drop you off at the bus stop opposite JB City Square in the direction towards Kotaraya Terminal, but you gotta walk back to Kotaraya Terminal to take 160, 170 (Blue Plate) or 950 after your day at JB City Square.

No need. Can walk the way back from City Square to JB Sentral instead.
from punggol rd,before TPE-Blk 430 ard AMK.88 faster(direct) or 86/136 faster but need 10 mins walk?
136 goes one big round along AMK Ave 1 plus another big round at Serangoon Gardens. So, 136 is probably not the choice for you if you want the fastest route.
86 is rather fast but its freq is lower than 88 coupled with the fact that you need a 10 min walk.
So, if you want a direct bus, take 88. If you want the fastest route, you can try taking 74 and transfer to 88 along Hougang Ave 8 (along Montfort sch) if service 74 bus comes first
Or 132 to Upper Serangoon Rd which is 2 stops after Hougang Stadium and transfer to 136.

this method will work if you miss the 88 and the 74 comes within 5min after that. Then you will transfer back to the same 88 you missed.
in addition the person is asking from punggol rd, not amk.

peak hour 15-18min. off peak 10-13min.
You can just alight from 966, cross the bridge, walk into the gate nearby and cut thru SAJS and the kallang river to SAJC,
