Probably SL dun wanna create more problems among themselves.Imagine they have to make a report especially new buses.
By the time all the new buses used up for service i think the mrt circle line start to work. So some bus service will be removed or marge with another service. Don't forget sbs and smrt has no control over the service number and route from this year. It LTA has the say over the route deployment
Anyone has any idea abt when the new Scanias will arrive?
I wanna see some new redeployments....

cos CDGE is still assembling the bodyworks and Gemilang is still supplying them, so there should be spare parts readily available.

dun forget for the next few years many more buses will be phased out...

Yeah... SBST's Merc 0405s are now in the midst of phasing out, following on are Volvo MK3s as well as Darts. And still uncertain whether the VO2x or the LO3x goes off 1st.
Wonder will the next 200 Scania K230UBs look similar to the 400 Euro 5s or not, and also the regos that will be used on after 8999. Plus new Euro 5 Volvo B9TLs with new EDS displays
...

Mainly due to the fact that SMRT buy new buses as a completely whole unit. Unlike SBST CDGE which buys the chassis and parts then build and assemble the whole unit.

Hmm... that's where SBST will find opportunities to clear up all their old buses in bulk. Just like the LO2x NAC DDs that were completely phased out in end 2003 after the NEL rationalisations took place.
Hopefully the KUBs wouldn't come so soon.

How are you going to stop this?
You are going to see the new K230s before you see the B9TLs.

Yeah I miss those NAC LO2X on svc70, those are some fst buses that really speed, and damn windy sitting on upper deck. Even the VO2X were kicked out after a year replacing LO2X.
Cheers.

Agree. Additional 200 on the road will make no much difference as of the 900. But hoping to see other brands on SBST in near future, enough of the KUBs.
Cheers.

I lik the kubs now.I have learnt to accept them cuz sooner or later, they r gonna be SBST's flagship buses. And Gemilang is also not so bad afterall :)

the problem with KUBs is the seats, or rather the lack of seats.... too few

VO2x from BNDEP, HGDEP and AMDEP were all mass transferred to SLBP in 2003 to replace all the LO2x on those JIS services before the LO2x were phased out.

They will have to come out sooner or later and I am looking forward to seeing great deployments taking place. Hopefully SBST will place in another order for 300 more new buses this year to replace the Volvo MK3s which will also be going off soon.

Say NO! to K230. lol
Would be nice if the last 200 KUBs get a different EDS, e.g. Mobitec.

best is to follow HK style to have more DDs. SBST should have considered buying some DD 2-axle buses. Worst is SMRT, zero DDs.
Thats because SMRT prefer bendys over DDs thats why SMRT zero DDs unless LTA completely banned all bendys then thats another story.Cant imagine if SMRT buy DDs also sure have peoples here complain why there are no bendys bla bla bla.Furthermore SMRT is just a small second public bus operator behind SBST,There's no way to compared them.
