I think this one usually depend on how much loading for the service, and how long it is... Euro V can accomodate more seating passengers than Euro IV mah. So maybe they swap out E4 B1 KUB for E5 B2 KUB so as to increase seating capacity per bus.
In fact I think the E4 B1 KUB are more suited for feeder and other short haul routes, just like what AM/BR did to their E4 B1 (60, 232, 238, 265, 268 etc.) with the exception of 63 (I think this service needs newer KUB). Mainly because even though seating capacity smaller but passengers do not need to stand for so long as they usually alight after a short while...

But for feeder like svc 241 or 242 or 243, there are many elderly and parents with child onboard. They also need these seats but I agree that euro IV can accomodate more pax and rather suitable for short haul svcs. Blame on the design fault for the earlier batch..
I think E4 B1 has some limitations, because E4 B2 has the same capacity but are deployed on more services...
...Which is why you won't see perm Euro IVs on 502 and 506.
But I think the depots are more concerned about meeting WAB requirements than to weigh the one-seat difference when it comes to deployment on services.

All these a/m services were among the 1st AMDEP/BRBP services that started K230UBs when K230UBs were brought into SBST if I am not wrong. There were only Euro 4 Batch 1s at that time...

Add on short haul trunks like 181.
But if that is the case that service 174 needs EEV more, I feel that the feeder EEVs should swop all the perm EEVs with service 174's Euro 4 Batch 1s.
Just like service 36 swopped Euro 4s with short haul services like 17 and 358 EEVs![]()

All the 5xxx should be progressively installed with the CCTVs.
There were also some Batch 1s which did not have CCTV installed for a start, like SBS8079Y etc.

232 238 overworked themselves already.

Some other KUBs like 8473s and 8502s roar very loudly. Almost make my ears deaf. Even inside from the bus , it's making a piercing sound and that is when the buses are stationery. Most of the SLBP buses don't roar so loudly as the BRBP/AMDEP ones.
