BlueTec in Asia
BlueTec has been in use in Mercedes-Benz cars so its now put into use for not only buses but trucks as well which bears the 3-pointed star..
In time to come, Singapore may just have fuel-cell for buses from Mercedes-Benz as well & its their initiative to aim for zero-emissions in the near future..
Where did you get that pic ?

BlueTec in Asia
Singapore Mass Rapid Transit (SMRT) is the first company in Southeast Asia to put Mercedes-Benz urban buses with BlueTec 5 into operation in short-distance public transport. This means that the BlueTec diesel technology so successfully introduced by Daimler in Europe now also has a presence in Asia. And with an order for 66 Mercedes-Benz Citaro BlueTec urban buses that meet the stringent Euro 5 exhaust standard, the SMRT Corporation in Singapore is setting new benchmarks in Southeast Asia.
Er...Does the 66 include the Demo?
SMRT love Mercedes alot :)
Great.. Now SMRT fleet would be like mercs, mercs and mercs.. Maybe SMRT followed TIBS tradition of ordering hinos and hinos as a start?

should be the sbs transit OC..
now the MB logo is smaller.. look nicer... and seriously where will SMRT find spaces to park these additional 66 new buses, if they are not going to deregister old buses? they are buying new buses to try to meet the WAB quota given by LTA... but think still cant meet...
wow nice bus!

it is the SBST OC.
Nice to see the Citaro under SMRT, hopefully we can see the artic version of Citaro in SMRT fleet, but I don't think that would be possible as well~~

View from far looks like an average person.
Hi guys,
You can find this bus at Pandan Gardens Cycle & Carriage. I saw one parked inside the ground floor of covered carpark yesterday night..
Wow!!! Wonder will all 3 depots got a share for this bus?
Re-post:
Appreciate all the tip-offs from bus enthusiasts about the bus, today I passed by and went to check it out. It can be confirmed that its a full low floor Mercedes Benz Citaro (model O530). Diesel model. OM457hLA side-mounted with Adblue exhaust treatment Euro 5 emissions. 29 fixed seats including three 'granny' seats, one wheelchair bay with foldable 'granny' seat size. Entrance and exit doors are normal leaf doors, no sliding nor plug doors. Petrol and Adblue tanks are above the front axle compartment. Front suspension is Independent Front Suspension (IFS), rear is drop-center axle. Axles made by ZF.
Full low floor means no step from entrance to the rear along the corridor, but there is a big step from the corridor to access seats after the exit.
In Europe this model is also known as the 'facelifted Citaro' to differentiate it from first generation design of Citaros.
Hope these technical information will solve the questions many folks are asking here. Thanks.

In my opinion, SMRT even though are getting more and more Mercedes Benz, but at least they tried different models for them and they bought a low amount of them which is a good thing though. At the very least they are unlike SBST, spamming thousands of Scanias K230UB in 1 go which everything are totally the same except the EDS for euro 4 & 5.
