:) at least citaro got a slower competitor le
The only thing I noticed it didn't overtake when I sat it for many rounds were SMRT buses; especially Lance and O405.
SBST buses all got overtaken, especially 93 4 times at Queensway. 93 epic fail :D

as for this, there is an option to install an OM457hLA engine. if this engine is installed, expect the same power from the OC500LE.
Saw it at Yishun Int parking at 855 berth today at around 1930hrs.
Cheers.
i saw 8409 overtake the citaro while running along lornie rd without stopping bef.

If you guys want underpowered and slow, you need to come to Perth to experience this...

Engine is an Iveco Cursor 8 CNG which is a 7.8-litre, 6-cylinder unit. Power and torque output is 228kW/310hp and 1100Nm respectively. It has a ZF 6HP 504 gearbox.

Hey, that pic was taken @ Mill Point Rd, yeah?
Anyway, isn't the Iveco bus division now part of Irisbus?

Wellington Street outside the bus station.
Irisbus is owned by Iveco, which still produces buses under the Iveco brand name (e.g. CityClass). This particular unit is a Citelis, which is made in France at the old Renault V.I. plant.

Happened to see the bus a few times on the road and i always see the bus struggling to make it's way out of the bus bay.
Don't understand why SMRT is willing to spend $500k to buy a cui bus when they can get a better bus at a more cheaper price.
U wan to compare a bus's pickup/speed perfomance in a such a tiny distance lik moving out of the bus stop??Wth is tis??U wan compare, compare properly lik along a highway or a long stretch of road lik tis la....

Seriously, we're discussing the performance of CITY BUSES here. The initial take-off performance of a city bus is of uttermost importance if schedules are to be met. It is in start-stop situations where the Scania K-series fails miserably. The underpowered engines make pulling out of bus stops a chore and add to the stress that a bus driver has to endure on a day to day basis. The K-series also does not give the driver control of how hard the engine should rev and this makes driving them even more of a chore than necessary.

Slow? Didn't feel slow to me when I took it yesterday. Rather, it was pretty quick coming out of bus bays. Took it during peak hours, so bus was pretty packed. Seemed to have slight trouble with extreme load, but it was pretty zippy the way the driver handled it.

agreed totally. that's why the O405's will be missed here in singapore as they're progressively retired.
i wished we had citybuses with Allison transmission here. impressed by its pickup.

I find that if they are fitted with anything at and above 270, the difference could be felt.
Then again the axles fitted on the older buses like the O405 feature a much bigger ratio that helped with a similar rated engine... Albeit at a 8/15 kW difference from the K230 for the Pre-Euro and Euro 1 O405 respectively...
