Don't think 246 and 249 will be relocated to Joo Koon Ter but rather services that serves the Jurong Industrial area nearer to Joo Koon MRT like 254, 255, 257 and 182 etc will move over.
But then when those svcs are relocated to Joo koon Ter those JIS on end on berths which have not been relocated to Joo Koon ter as well as svc 79 might switch to the saw tooth berth and amended to ply Jurong West St 64 (non stop) and Boon Lay Way just like 240. As you have noticed all the svcs from saw tooth turns left from the new int while those on the end on berth turns rights from the interchange for their route.
In the end things might becomes 30, 154, 157, 174 and 198 taking 4 slots each and 174e taking the remaining 2 slots.

I suggest svc 251 or 252 should move to B4.
If you noticed, those ending at End-on berths turn right when exiting, while those ending at sawtooth berth turn left while exiting.
I find it a waste for 174e to use 2 berths. 79 is a loop service isn't it? 2 berths! I feel services like 30 154 198 need more lots.

I am thinking SBST has already drop some hints which services are going to Joo Koon.
Notice 25X and 24X on B7 to B17 are alternating TRUNK INDUSTRIAL TRUNK INDUSTRIAL?
I am thinking this is a temporary arrangement.
Services 246, 249, 251 and 252 are going Joo Koon eventually.
157 will take over B8.
198 will take over B10.
154 will take over B12.
30 will take over B14.
79 will have only 2 lots.
174e operates only in the morning peak from Boon Lay. So it is perm arrangement already. B17 will be used when B16 lots are used up.
As for 179, 179A and 199. SBST has no idea where to put the services, so anyhow put. Put at old interchange. The crowds for these 3 services would probably take over the whole interchange.
179, 179A and 199 will probably go to Berth B1 and B4 when Joo Koon Terminal opens. To decrease passenger loading, probably 192 and 193 will loop at Boon Lay Int instead of terminating at Boon Lay Int.
Sounds reasonable?
let me share some observations I saw today.
255 and 254 are hastily attached to B5 and B6 as an extra plate and additional lane marking on the floor.
the workers are halfway through covering up the directional signages. B1 reveals 179A 193 242, B3 reveals 179 182/182M 243G 405 and B4 reveals 199 243G 257. by official operations you will notice white stickers have been pasted to cover up the "services that should not be there".
big enough hint?
i believe sv79/174e berth will be used for alighting purpose mainly... or else, for eg, if the sv30 berth is full, where shall the passengers alight?
Pity the Sv 174, Sv 154, Sv 157 & Sv 30 BC driving leylands when the new BNL int arrives. They all will have to steer like mad when turning into the interchange & reverse turning out of the sawtooth. ![]()

There is a reason as to why 179/199 remains at old interchange...

i'd rather the old int arrangement style , and what is the reason ? ... what so special about it ? :S ...
eventually it will move over ,my guess is they testing water on the passenger load in the int , now cant really judge since holidays ...
few months later it should move to the new int according to a bc earlier.. only temp arrangement.

it's not easy to tell which are moving to Joo Koon, simply because it's likely the JIS + Tuas trunk rationalisation plan is going to be quite extensive
There's a chance 185 or 502 might be extended
194, 240 to call at Boon Lay Way/ Os & Opp Boon Lay MRT Stn. No more point to point service riaos ![]()
182 & 254 to call at Jurong West St 64 bus stop
Quickly go and take picture of exit F of Boon Lay MRT Station! That is the exit that leads to the temporary interchange! Plus, its "East West Line" is painted in RED! and no EW27 is written!

Maybe you can think along the lines of parking issues...

haha! no need to worry for them la. they're professionals in their field.
just need more strength only. even i'd driven old manual army trucks with minimal power steering in the jungle.

Eh, thinking about what I've said just now, I actually went by the back alley, the place where you can see the glass panel of McDonalds. If your camera lense is around 24mm, it will be able to fit through the fence and you can have a fun time snapping pictures.
You can enter via the following spots (if you dare, since those area have a signboard which says: Area Closed, No Access.):
1. JP2 B1, beside Stalford Learning Centre, escalator leads to JP1 Level 1 Taxi Stand.
2. JP2 Level 3, The Market Place, escalator outside Fairprice Xtra, leads directly to the interchange.
3. JP2 Level 1, beside the money exchange.
4. JP2 Level 1, Lift Lobby, where there is also a entrance to The Centris (residents only) on your right. Infront of you is the door to the interchange.
5. JP2 Level 1, near the Takeaway Alley.

Well, you can leave such planning to SBST. About services moving to Joo Koon, this is too early for us to make assumptions.
You may think it is ridiculous for JIS to terminate at end-on berths. However it is planned this way for safety and traffic flow reasons. That's why 242 405 get amended to serve Jurong West Ctrl 3.
As for 179/A and 199, other than the crowd, you have to consider the size of the interchange and how many parking lots these 2 services occupies. Making 2-directional services into loop service do not affect much of passenger loading but the main thing is to make space for parking.
Anyway, isn't 79 a loop service? If it were to retain as loop service and return to sawtooth berths, it should follow 194 240 making a round out of Jurong West Ctrl.

if it's just a simple bus sv termination shift to Joo Koon, those deleted stretches nearer to BNL would end up be replaced by a new bus service. It might not help much
We shall wait and see LTA's first attempt to rationalise bus svs

If u look at my post earlier on, I was referring to the sawtooth. I knw it is wide, but don't forget that the entrance is a 2 way in & out (obvious). So when u think of it, it's more like a 90 degree turning in, not as bad as the Toa Payoh one. Almost 180 degree turning in. ![]()
surprise to see SMRT svc being list inside the SBS Boon Lay Prochure... O-O
SBS so friendly to SMRT? lol
bottomline is , the planning & design is screwed . very poor planning ..not enough space for bus to park, etc .
if u know the passenger load so high , , and you cant even really fit all the svc inside ... nvm ....
