you think the BC oso wants this to happen..
I think the BC drove fast and when it was turning into the bus bay, it accidentally never notice the bus stop roof and hit it.

explain "hit 3 cars"
looks like bus stop was used to stop the runaway bus. which is a good structure to use looking at that location.
want to use the water barriers wont stop one lor. ![]()
Updates: Was raining when I was coming home about 4.30. Roof collapsed, a crane was supporting it so that it didn't hit the ground. Just now at about 9.30, the roof was removed already. I think they are might-as-well-ing put in the new bus stop immediately.

Wah. Like that BCs and SLs will have a hard time stopping accurately and the bus behind would not save time by allowing the people to alight first.

i'm sure the driver did everything possible, and in a collision it'll hit him the hardest as it's head-on...

for the first bus only.the 2nd bus still out of the PSD area but what makes me wonder is that if this really happens, there will be problems like:
But good for:
Why need PSD. The bollards on the bus stops are there for a reason.

but bollards may help to reduce the impact of damage..just by reducing the speed of the bus.
one of the bollards BROKE after hit by the bus...can see from the Ch8 news.. i think it is the bus stop/kerb which manage to stop the runaway bus...

sin ming also say tat after the driver replied cannot stop, 1 of the passengers tried to turn the steering wheel to the left. To prevent the bus from losing control the BC tried to turn it back to the right. The bus crashed into the busstop during the confusion. The BC is a 50+ years old Singaporean. Has been with SBST for 6 years.

Gotta split the route of this service.
Logic? Just because an accident occured = must split the route?
Brake failures during broad daylight don't occur only on long haul routes.
I wonder what will happen to the BC? Will SBST side him or will he be terminated and sacked? It looks like the BC is going to pay for the damage.
Yesterday also got another news about SBS1924D about an uncle's hand got injured by the door of the bus , 1 female passenger says when this incident happened , passengers shouted at the 29 yr old BC asking him to stop but he didn't , so that uncle got so angry because BC was so irresponsible and rubbed stain of blood on the BC's uniform to proof.

whether the BC will get terminated or not is determined by who is at fault. judging from reports the bus experienced brake failure, so the fault may lie with the slbp workshop staff who might not have maintained the bus to standard.
