TIB1242U brokwdown yesterday at WRI late night. Saw it drove off with SMRT mechanic lorry to WLDEP at around 11pm.

Today, 27 Jan 2010
SBS 2989K broke down at Jurong West Street 62. The YISHUN truck was seen. The truck push the bus at around 5.50 pm to 6 pm.
A Volvo Olympain (SBS 7288S on 255)park in the Boon Lay Interchange (at door A1), maybe accident because the green shirt man took a photo of it and I saw one glass beside the driver crack.. SBS Transit truck was seen. The bus drove off around 7 pm to 7.05 pm.

7483U on 25 broke down along HG Ave 3 at around 6.30 am this morning, bus did not seem to have any problem, all lights inside turned on, no engine compartment opened etc

Its common and sad to see many dangerous drivers on the roads nowadays. Common acts are beating red lights at accelerated high speeds, speeding, change lanes abruptly and driving in a manner that endangers other motorists and pedestrians. Generally the most well behaved are our 2 public bus companies drivers. Many other private buses and lorries are going way beyond the 60kmh speed limit on expressways and normal roads.
Maybe SBST and SMRT should consider using CCTV recordable cameras onboard so that its can be used for accident claims.

ELBO on 187, 29th January 2010. Breakdown at bus stop, Jurong West Ave 1,the bus stop opposite Blk 463. I wasn't surprised that it broke down since the ELBO buses are rather old and going to be de-reg soon.

SBS8393P(BRBP 157) doing 157 declared brokedown at Braddell Rd bus stop(Opp Blk 1004) at 3pm. Before it brokedown on that spot, the bus give out black thick smoke when the BC revs the engine to high. The bus keep stopping in sudden every time when huge black smoke come out from exhaust. Complimentary tickets were issued. This bus was later replaced by SBS494J.
8393 was on sv63 ytd. -
Anyone knows SBS9333G do wat svc today?
I saw it about 3pm @ Alexandra Road with the front bumper centre part broken BC drive back depot in that state.
Looks like a cui car in those action film car chase scene

I saw SBS1953 aka 33 emit dark fumes that blow across 2 lanes.Moral of the story is not to stand on pavement or road divider opposite it
, bearing in mind 33 go past many narrow areas w/out ovh bridge. Macham white canvas shoes will turn black under its fumes deposit -
SBS9120D on 31. Battery empty. What a joke. Last trip 11.20pm towards TPY. Bus just went off right after Bedok North Ave 3 Junction. Everything went off. BC couldnt print ticket couldnt call OCC, couldn't start engine, couldnt even flash double signal :p. Only use his HP, :p Change to next bus SBS8837B.
Overnight parking bus. Probably day before just come back refuel, forget about battery :p today running since 6am until now, I wont be surprised battery empty. Engine kicking and A/C very cold though.

alternator not working properly, preventing the battery from being charged up and the use of the interior lights perhaps drained the battery till empty.

There is no need to charge the battery. It is charged by the alternator.
Electricity is needed to run the A/C and interior lights, validator, EZ-link readers and the engine(Via the glowplugs).

1st Breakdown for February
TIB777A (WLDEP 966) on 966 broke down at Petir Road after leaving Blk 219 Bus Stop today at 0804hrs.
Bus able to move. Suspect is air-con problem or Ezlink card reader breakdown. About 30 commuters were asked to alight.
TIB565U (WLDEP 966) on 966 came at 0806 hrs with about 50 commuters and affected commuters board the bus. -
