Question :
Why to tiong bahru ??
Serve Hotel 81 Osaka and Link Hotel arh ????
In summary, the following services will be introduced:
RWS 68: RWS - Outram Park MRT (Outram Road)
RWS 88: RWS - City Hall MRT (Coleman St)
963R: Woodlands - RWS
The confusing part is the NR1 and NR6 as they have long been introduced and I was unsure of whether it will go into RWS.
RWS 68, RWS 88 and 963R will only operate on Weekends and Public Holidays. RWS 88 and 963R will be introduced on 29 Jan; RWS 68 will be introduced next month.
RWS 68 and RWS 88 will charge a flat fare of S$ 1.80 and S$ 2.00 respectively, while 963R will charge a fare of between S$ 1.50 and S$ 2.35. No details for concessionary travel (on 963R).

They can't even meet 40% WAB QoS by tis year and still take tis lobang.
That's why I said the company is an irresponsible one. Rather use the buses and manpower for catering such services than to improve the frequency of their medicore public bus services.
What a shame.
It will be better that private operators to provide such services instead.
For this i agreed that SMRT should not bother to take the lobang but instead improve their cash cow service fleets or even introduced a new service from Sembawang

irresponsible to its primary market of consumers.. but very responsible to its shareholders... obvious case that SMRT goes where the money is and is the least bit interested in its public bus services prolly 'cos it doesnt make as much money as these contracted bus services.

Then will 963R serves all the bus stops the same as 963 & 963E?
Wonder if SMB121U cameoed on 963 recently is a test out?
I find the numbering system for the new services ridiculous. The numbers are not consistent at all and it's hard for many people to remember. On top of that, many older Singaporeans will get confused again by the similar services 8 and 88. Remember CT8, CT18 and CT28? Many in the Bedok area assumed CT18 follows 18's route.
But can you imagine if you have to give someone directions? "Oh, when you take the MRT, you can alight at the station most convenient for you at HarbourFront, Outram Park or City Hall and take RWS 8, RWS 68 or RWS 88, depending on where you alight." Chances are they'll only remember "RWS" and nothing else.
I recommend the following:
- R808 (RWS 8)
- R868 (RWS 68)
- R888 (RWS 88)
- R963 (963R)
(or any other similar combinations if SMRT/RWS decides to adopt it)
NightRider services stays untouched.

One day with the opening of Marina Sands IR/Resort, they will give more stunt, like 960MSR or 190 MSR..... slowing pulling out all basic trunk services to "higher" fares services.

May be MBS - Marina Bay Sands.
No matter how much they open IR services, they will not be able to earn much money

This is doubtful as the air-conditioned city centre bus interchanged that LTA is planning will be in the Marina Bay area.
Existing Shenton Way and Marina Centre terminating services are likely to be extended to this city centre bus interchange.
And if we were to consider the $2 admission fee into Sentosa, these shuttle services contracted out by RWS can actually be of savings as 963R costs only $1.50 from Harbourfront and RWS 68 costs only $1.80 from Outram.

For everyone who is calling SMRT "irresponsible" to operate the RWS services, I would like everyone to read the tender for the shuttle services and it's T&Cs.
Apparently RWS shuttle tender had strict T&Cs on the kinds of buses used. The following are some of the terms:
1. Buses cannot be used to ferry students or workers (Private coaches out).
2. Buses cannot be above 5 years of age. (PA Lances, MB O405s out).
3. Buses must have public announcement systems. (All other models out).
Look at these criteria, it seems that only SMRT's OCs can meet them. Furthermore, only RWS8 operates daily. Since lesser buses are used during weekends, I don't see the need to cry over them operating the RWS shuttles.
I will only disagree if they deploy new Citaros on the shuttle.

If that is true, that means 963R/NR1/NR6 buses must be full-fleet OCs, Citaros or Yutong. That's gonna be quite a change!
SMRT Buses Launches Bus Services To Resorts World Sentosa (RWS)

Lol. Following SBS's style, CT8, CT18, CT28. ![]()

Haha... SMRT used "R" from RWS(Resort World Sentosa) for 963R, wonder if they decide about taking "M" from MBS(Marina Bay Sands). ![]()
Like 75M, 77M, 106M, 171M, 700M, 857M, 960M, 961M. Feels like HK bus svcs. ![]()

Hard to say about the Citaros. What if the Citaros also have fit-in annoncement system? SMRT may put them on RWS svcs.
But 963R still can't be WAB svc. ![]()

We can expect some or even all WL OCs to be on 963R on next Saturday.

R can just stand for Resort or Recreation. Marina Bay Sands is also an Integrated Resort.
Like HK style.

Hong Kong:
Prefix M: Some bus routes that are terminated at Airport Express station
Prefix R: North Lantau recreational bus routes (for Hong Kong Disneyland)
Suffix M = Mainly connecting to MTR stations
Suffix R = Recreational (weekends) service.
Singapore:
Prefix RWS = connecting to MRT stations from/to Restorts World at Sentosa.
Suffix R = weekends express service from/to Restorts World at Sentosa.
deleted.

Hmm.. If no bendies are allowed into RWS, or fleet must only have OCs / Citaros / Yutong, Christmas and New Year Eve... Oops...
Unless bendies still do downroutes from Marina Centre...
