took service 5 5129G. half the bus filled w/ filipinos. i thought i wasnt in singapore anymore.
along one of the bus stops on bedok reservoir rd, a filipino pax flagged the bus late. the BC had to brake and swerve into bus stop.. end up he stopped the bus a bit ahead of the bus stop.
BC opened front door.
pax waited at exit door TO BOARD THE BUS!
she stood there... realised that it was never gonna open and ran to the front door.

Seem that they want to stand there and either flagging late or don't want to do so, thinking that the BC to open the door for them. The probability for them to miss the bus is more than 50%.
If they do this on 133M, 188R, 852, 855, 963R then good luck for them!!!

Some differences between SBST KUB & Rapid Penang KUB when I went to Penang:
SBS Transit KUB:
K230UB
Euro IV and V
Two segment door in front
Front (Where Scania logo is) has one long curve line across
12.0M
Euro IV has vents on A/C on top, Euro V none
Rapid Penang KUB:
K270UB
Euro IV
One segment door in front
Front (Where Scania logo is) has three curves across, bumper is not grey
10.6M
EDS much smaller
Has SBST Euro V A/C (on top), but has Euro IV rear (window)
Sorry if some parts are confusing ![]()

Sorry, i find it quite hard to believe as i could not believe that Tammy Tan will put annoucement in bus. BTW, is there any chime, what is the voice and how many languages.
OT, 300th post.

Sightings like this are pretty common at Vivo city (RWS8), where commuters like to board the bus last minute, or take their own sweet time.

If SMRT are going to buy new buses, the 425R-441T batch (July-October 94') will be the first to go though.
But the ones registered in 95-96 such as 446E may get to stay.
Not trying to speculate anything, but SMRT currently have no plans to buy new buses, other than the citaro this year.

2 years at most.

Haix... how I wish SBST does that to teh O405s.
Refurbish->Extend 2 years of life->Put teh Euro IV KUBs in SP mode for another few months or even a year = comfortable rides&no jerking (for that period)
NO OFFENCE TO KUB FANS!
Today, as the road @ Yishun Ave 2 have road construction, it causes a long queue of vehicles waiting for the traffic light. 2 857 buses was 20-30 cars away from each other. The 2 buses were TIB441T and 1 unknown Habit Bendy with mobitec.

dun believe then just go take that bus to see whether there is any announcement or not. Some people are real stubborn...
Originally posted by Reautex:wtf. i'm serious! am i that stupid that i can't tell the difference between SBS/SMRT and ringtone/speaker? i had a shock too when i boarded the bus. it was LOUD and CLEAR.
but one thing to note, the system is not "fixed" onto the bus. the speaker and some device (obviously a device to play the announcement) was place at the empty spot beside the entrance door (the place where the fare ticket machine was last time). the speaker (which look exactly same as the doorbell speaker) was place above the side desto holder.
relax. i believe you and i know who did it. (: sv107 sv107.

Good thing it was involved in accident.![]()
TIB654X and SMB132M (on 187) BCs chose to offload people at 169/964 berth during morning instead of off loading at alighting berth at around 8.55am.
SBS2770Z (on 157) entered BNL int via sawtooth entrance at 6.32pm.

haha smart move. easier to off back to slbp liddat. end-ons are crowded at that point of time.
i genuinely feel BNL Int parking allocation at end ons can be improved. without switching services between sawtooth and end-on

actually this has been in my mind for quite some time. cos i notice that all the sv30 and 154 buses do not have meal break at Boon Lay cos of the current parking allocation causing some drivers to eat at awkward times like 4pm and 830pm. With this setting, it can allow for mealbreak. sv157 is able to contain mealbreaks at a better timeframe so its not so bad but the new arrangment could see it share lots at an easier rate. also, sv79 is a loop svc, while 174e operates only 1 hour every morning, both wasting with 2 lots.
What do you guys think?
Hi guys I would like to seek your views on the Chinese bus fleet in Singapore. There have been many China made coaches/buses in Signapore like the Kinglong XMQ6121 Hybrid and the Yutong ZK6126. Do you guys know of any other models of Chinese made coach/buses in Singapore? :D damn excited to sit on one of these!
