960 need 75% DDs, 25% bendies. 0 SD
Observation on 960, SD cannot tank the load at all the hotspots
Hotspots are
Towards WRI
Bugis Junction
Little India
A lot of people alighted at BPJ and Sungei Kadut wich means there are a lot of long haul passenger.
Towards MC also the same
At times SD cant tank load at Sungei Kadut and BPJ area already during peak hour. When i take bendies, the bendies can tank the load, SD buses normally have pax till it filled the door
857 should have 80% DDs 20% Bendies and 0 SD
857 Citaro and MAN and CAC cannot tank the load at Little India towards Yishun and also Yishun towards City. Bus will always be crowded at different hot spots like town area and Little India towards Yishun. Pax are normally long haul type and most of the pax will alight after Khatib MRT.
167 Need at least 50% DDs, 25% SD and 25% Bendies*
Towards Bukit Merah is okay during peak hours
Towards Sembawang always crowded starting from Orchard onwards
Passenger are long haul ones who alighted at Yishun and Sembawang area.
MAN and OC at times cannot tank the load and pass the load to 980

I agree with you - 38 buses with 30 DDs and 8 SDs is good enough for 190.
but also need more capacity increase on 972 simultaneously
14 buses with 8 DDs, 6 SDs needed
and 700 is okay for now.

My observation is similar.
Towards Marina Center (AM):
SDs cannot take load at BPJ... bus already fully packed. Again Little India heavy loads to Bugis.
Towards WRI:
Bus again gets packed at BPJ for Woodlands Road industrial estate (so still need high capacity buses in opp direction)
During PM peak,
Bus already full at Bugis. Ever seen 45-50 pax board only at Bugis. At Little India, though many alight, still bus is full capacity that by Whitley no space to enter. After Ten mile junction, bus loses steam for few stops before again gets heavy load from Woodlands Rd Industrial to Woodlands Reg Int.
Full fleet high capacity is good for 960.

Given that sv 980 is in parallel all the way till Novena, the loads are manageable. Yet I propose 980 should get 3 AM DDs and 167 should get 2 perm DDs. This should be enough to manage the Springleaf/Upper Thomson load towards city.
Originally posted by TIB 585L:857 should have 80% DDs 20% Bendies and 0 SD

857 is a disaster. No high capacity buses yet. 857 needs to start with 6 DDs first for peak time to city. You will always see packed buses from Khatib, some alight at YCK road industrial zone and again bus packed before CTE. Such long distance 35-40 pax have to squeexe and stand.

Once 857 can take DDs, I am sure all 3 BSEP slots will become DD. The two AMDEP slots will get transferred to WLDEP for sure.

Better than nothing,7 DDs during peak hours is adequate for this svc and remember its a loop svc.
