I agree... 102 needs NO DDs right now. For 103, with SAP coming up in big way, I would do 6 DDs, 10 SDs.
My deployment for 979
3 A22, 5 E500.
Fleet of 8 buses to start with. Estimated run time with break time: ~60 mins. Frequency: 06 mins for A22, 08 mins for E500.
I am proposing frequency of 06-08 mins, since 979 does the job of a feeder more than a trunk, and hence quick arrival of buses is necessary.
Majority high capacity fleet is required, because suppose 979 calls before 302 at CCK Crescent. Lot of people will board for YT MRT as well, and those heading further to BPJ will not get to board.
Moreover I think 979 will be quite popular to get people to transfer to buses at BPJ road, Woodlands road. 979 -> 190 to city will be faster than 302 -> 190.

Agreed. HGDEP anyway crying for space. Just give 141 to BRBP.

The volgrens should give a last chance to do revenue service though :/
If i am the CEO of SMRT Buses?
I will convert the last A22 orders to A95 instead.Buy another 20 units of E500,50 units of A24 and 70 units of Euro V VDL SB 310hp SD.I will persuade LTA to built a sub bus park opposite Amdep and beside Bukit Panjang Terminal that can accomodate at least another 120-150 buses.Scrap/Sell those OCs,Citaros and non WAB buses.
Originally posted by TIB 585L:The volgrens should give a last chance to do revenue service though :/
The question is whether there is still enough space in the bus park to park unnecessary older buses when new buses are still coming in at a relatively fast rate...I am wondering if this is part of the reasons SMRT did not bring in more HC buses.

Just stop the A22 order and convert it to A95.

No for Woodlands Depot and Bus Park. Even if there's space it is at most for the buses to squeeze out for BCs to do their duties.
Hopefully there are more than enough parking lots at the future TWRI for 900, 901, 903, 911, 912, 913 buses to do overnight parking..

What do you mean by that?
By the way if the volgrens are retired, do they even have enough HC buses to compensate?
