Fleet proposal for sv 111
7 B9TLs, 4 SDs..
I want 2 SD->DD upgrade again for sv 111. The loading had fallen 3-4 years back but from last year onwards the loading has increased thanks to the huge crop of developments in Queenstwon, Dawson and off-Tanglin road from where 111 is the only direct service catering to Orchard road.
DDs are getting 80-90 pax on peak hour trips between Orchard MRT and Queenstown. Loading between Orchard and Suntec sharply drops.
For me, I would prefer if 111 gets 1 more AP DD (for both weekdays and weekends) instead of a SD to DD conversion as it would help to boost the frequency of the route at the same time.
I feel that 111 serves as an alternative from Orchard to Queenstown/Commonwealth without the need to transfer between MRT lines, in addition to serving the housing areas along Tanglin and Queenstown.
Also, I noticed that buses can be packed from Orchard all the way to the Tanglin area during PM peak and PM off peak with the upper deck is well utilised, citaros can be packed to the door by the time the bus reaches the Trader Hotel (Hotel Jen Tanglin) bus stop.

My suggestions for fleet upgrade/downgrade:
78 and 98 - remove the SD
106 - frequency is OK, but prefer if more DDs do 106 during off-peak on a daily basis instead of A22s
145 - 6 SD convert to 4 DD (SD bunching is common and 2 SDs can have more than 35 pax each within 3 mins apart)
165 - 1 DD downgrade to SD
187 - convert 7 A22 to 4 bendies, 187 has way too many buses
198 - Full DD fleet, can cut 1 bus if all the SDs are converted to DDs
502 - add 1 bus for frequency boost
Beside the bus packages,LTA should also tender the rail lines in future.EAST/WEST,NORTH/SOUTH,NORTHEAST,CIRCLE,DOWNTOWN,THOMSON EAST COAST,CROSS ISLAND & JURONG REGION lines.

Why is SBS3434M and SBS3445G on 103?
I redeployed 3434M and 3445G to replace 1 batch 1 citaro and 1 BSEP citaro, I intend to upgrade 2 BSEP SD slots to DD slots

* Bus in front = 07 mins
* Bus behind = 04 mins, followed by bus in 03 mins
* There wasn't much bunching but buses arrive in intervals of 03-08 mins quite a lot for a trunk service. All were A22s.
* Distinct high loading patterns
(1) Lakeside - Jurong East Ave 1 (also operated by sv 98). Bus left with 16 pax.
(2) Bukit Batok MRT - Bukit Batok West Ave 7 (also operated by 947, 985)
* Other loading patterns
(1) Many take from Boon Lay to Jurong West Ave 1 & Jurong East Ave 1 (first is covered by 157 & 198 as well). Unique route for East Ave 1.
(2) Around 8-10 students boarded at ITE CCK who went ahead to Woodlands
* Suggestions
(1) Fleet of 30 buses is too extravagant for this trunk service. Buses have been added from 20 to 30 to make up for the loss and lack of high capacity buses
(2) DDs should have been a priority for this service. A good fleet would be 25 buses with 15 A22s, 10 DDs

Service 854 buses clog up the heavily jammed section of YCK Road, as many as 3 buses can be on that stretch of road at once. Not to mention 854E! Service 43 has been delayed by this jam, along with many other bus services.
Assuming LTA bought 80 A95s...
SG5740C - SG5763L > Tower Transit (24 buses) To replace the E500s on the SMRT/TT services, and the two bendies on 106.
SG5764J - SG5783D > SMRT (20 buses)
SG5784B - SG5807U > Go-Ahead (24 buses)
SG5808S - SG5819K > SMRT (12 buses)
SMRT will get 32 A95s + 21 displaced E500s = 53 DDs.
Suddenly by 2025, there are nearly 10 companies operating the public buses due to so many packages handed out
