for 45 and 53, i notice ridership around Lor Ah Soo area to Serangoon Stn during AM Peak has been climbing ever since CCL from Dhoby was opened.

nope. 45 was close to fully packed, while 53 is somewhat not as reliable due to it being a long loop service. i believe ben has also observed that airport routes tend not to do well in reliability.

Yes. During lunch hours on 53 and there is literally no standing space (and sitting space, of course) in the bus. Lots of ppl started boarding at Lorong Ah Soo and most of them alighted at Serangoon.
Can anyone explain?

somehow the airport svcs seem to run on tight schedules often causing bunching problems.

It could seem that passengers are changing their travelling pattern.
Wonder how's Sv 62 loading these days

I believe it's could be one of these 3 issues I've thought of..
1) Airport staff shift timing: 1 cause of erratic 'dispatch' timing from Changi Airport.
2) Pasir Ris Dr 1 traffic condition bearing in mind some bus stops over there are still e types along e main road.
3) Queueing time to enter Airport T3 > T1 > T2 security checks whenever there's too many buses.

On the whole loop services tend to fare worse then bi-directional services. If a bus is late from Bishan to CGA it would be late or even later on the way back.
They could do off better if CGA was made a terminal also...

Tat one is true. But Airport one is super erratic w/ worker shift changeover factor.
They dun bother much abt a proper bus terminal for Airport all these while.

I believe they can have Airport Premiums. 1 way to Airport during early morning hours and 1 way back to heartlands during evening hours.
