75's main loading
Ngee Ann and SIM Students --> Bukit Panjang to Ngee Ann/SIM... Helps solve 184's loading.
Shenton Way <--> Ulu Pandan/Holland Village <--> Bukit Panjang
Great World City <--> Bukit Panjang
Shenton Way <--> Outram MRT <-> Tanglin
77
Holland Village <-> Sixth Avenue
Orchard <--> Sixth Avenue
Toh Tuck <--> Orchard
77 can be amended though, in my opinion.... perhaps integrating with 173 route to Clementi instead of Bukit Batok....
And then 173 looping at Jalan Anak Bukit and not proceeding into Toh Tuck area.

No, 24 must not be touched. The demand for this service is very high, especially for Ang Mo Kio and Serangoon residents to Paya Lebar, and from Eunos to Tanah Merah, Simei ITE, Singapore Expo and Changi Airport.
Instead SBST should deploy double deckers for this service along the non airport sectors.

24 should be staying as CCL not run by SBST....
If CCL run by SBST... sure gone by now.

Shenton Way <--> Ulu Pandan/Holland Village <--> Bukit Panjang can use 970.
Great World City <--> Bukit Panjang can use 970
Shenton Way <--> Outram MRT <-> Tanglin can use 970 as well and xfer to 174
Thus 75 can be withdrawn and integrate with 970 and amend part of the route to Ngee Ann Poly and SIM..
Holland Village <-> Sixth Avenue can use 970
Orchard <--> Sixth Avenue can use 156 and xfer to 174, 171
Toh Tuck <--> Orchard can use 173 and xfer to 174.
77 can integrate with 173. 106 and 174 can still be used to link to Orchard from Bukit Batok.

75 and 77 have the chance of being withdrawn with the opening of the DTL in 2015.
Meanwhile, 75's loading is quite heavy during peak hours.... and the part from Tanglin <-> Outram MRT <-> Shenton Way is so high that sometimes commuters cant even board the bus....
970 doesnt really help. Bukit Panjang commuters rarely take 970 on those parts you mentioned..... as 75 is a better alternative... doesnt ply Hillview/Jalan Jurong Kechil/Sixth Avenue... all those turns....

Doubt so
77 would end up be another MRT linkage route.

U forgot Toh Tuck.
Tat said, it's not going to be easy to remove 77 unless route splitting into 2 diff routes covering additional sectors is implemented. Tat said, the possible connection aren't sound.

If Svc 24 is withdrawn, angry passengers will start to flood the Straits Time Forum page.24 demand is very high in the rush hour.

Temporary bus route diversion for North West Brisk Walk Challenge 2010 on 31 October 2010, affecting bus services 169 & 856

Yes, this is the press release I know that 169 will be amended on 31 October.
I read inside the latest annual report of PTC that SBS Transit scrapped plans to introduce the cross territorial service 117. What a shame. I wonder what other plans they have. Well, i don't think either SBS Transit or SMRT Buses have much of a say now in route planning since it's taken over by LTA.

What a disappointment.
I was expecting to see SBS buses in Bukit Panjang in future.
If i'm not mistaken, 117 connects Hougang and Sengkang towns to Bukit Batok. It was supposed to start from Hougang and terminates at Bukit Batok. Similar to 39,85,161,168, 117 plies two towns under the control of SBS Transit and terminates at the competitor's territory, which is Bukit Batok. As SBS Transit services in Bukit Panjang, SBS Transit already have premium and night service running through Bukit Panjang, right? It's only they don't have basic trunk services there. This could however change with LTA's central route planning and the system of tendering for bus routes.

Diverted is the correct word to use.

SBS already have 160 and 170 running bukit panjang.
other spillovers includes 66 157 174 and 506 in Bukit Batok

I wun consider 160 and 170 running Bukit Panjang. Its running at on its outskirts.
Its like saying 151, 154, 966 serves Toa Payoh and 167, 980 serving Ang Mo Kio and 58 serving Tampines.
