I've been wondering...service 98 doesn't place plates at the front, so how do the commuters at Fishery Port Rd and Jln Tepong know which bus to board?

That's assuming that the svc 98 drivers are supposed to stop or slow down at the 3 bus stops along Jurong Port Rd, Fishery Port Rd and Jln Tepong for commuters so that they can see the side desto, right?

yes and during peak hours the buses have to stop anyway. During off peak it doesnt matter cos the frequency isnt as good with 98M in operation. So if you miss the bus towards Jurong Port Rd the same bus will come back to the same bus stop before the next bus arrives.
With effect from 28 February 2010, Bus Service 922 will be extended to loop at Bangkit Road via Jelapang Road, Segar Road, Fajar Road and Bukit Panjang Ring Road

currently only 1 bus use for 922 right ?
i think need 3 in total

Yup.
Currently 1 bus - frequency is every 30-35 minutes.
1 crossover bus from 920 during lunch and dinner break everyday.
I am guessing the LRT fleet or 920 may be reduced.
Enhanced 922 should have more demand than 920.
922 allows residents living in Jelapang / Segar / Fajar to have direct connections to the Bangkit Market.... whereby its a 2 minute walk to the Bukit Panjang Road bus stop to transfer to 171, 187, 190, 960, 963, 963R, 966.
Bukit Panjang Rulez! Despite having the LRT, residents prefer buses.
The only BUS-WELCOMED ONLY TOWN in Singapore! =)
its pretty misleading.. It didnt say whether or not the frequency will be improved. If yes, its almost a guarantee that there will be fleet addition. If not, it will be worse than before.

Unlikely to be the same fleet. The route takes at least 45 minutes to complete.
There will be at least 2 buses with the same frequency.
Who knows they deduct one bus from 920 put on 922.
Haiya WL got many spare merc..1 additional bus should be no prob for this service if the interval is 20 mins per bus.

922 if 20 mins per bus need 3, like 920. Unless its still 30 mins. LOL...

LOL... for me its a new bus service to Fajar and Segar! LOL...
I used to take 920 and have to walk about 10 minutes to Fajar or
take the LRT from Pending LRT or Bangkit LRT after walking 15 minutes to the station....
So much of walking... Irritating! Now no need liao! =)
Can keep the frequency of 920 and 922 (amended) be 10 minutes during PEAK time by adding of at least 1 S Shift bus so as not to wait longer for it.

May I ask in what way is 174 affected by the road closure?
