143 used to be under amdep. i rmb tuakee told me he parked 9085Y away from the usual S shift hangout spot on the day which it burnt down an LO3x, Ah Soon's LO2x and 2 O405s from 143.

how to inspect sign of engine overheating? the buses are running for almost 20-21 hours daily? weekly inspection of eletrical part? there is 2900 buses... so one day need to inspect how many buses?
Park new buses to one side to prevent heavy damage to new buses? What if the new buses caught fire? then all the new buses gone? Also, what do you mean by cost of replacing old bus is less than cost of replacing new buses? So if old buses is burn, go buy an old bus to replace? you still have to buy a new bus right? So how do you justify the cost of replacing an old bus is less compare to the new buses?
Agree with you. Also doubtful whether SBST can expand as SSDC land lease was up, and it's moving to Woodlands for info. Hopefully SBST and SMRT can extend their land lease or even better, expand their land.
Cheers.

I'm waiting for them to take over the piece of land where the former Ind Pk 3 is and build a multi-storey depot.
has the replacement buses been confirmed on sv 25? or cameos and spares still doing the slots?

They are very efficient, once it is known it would be up

Yes, a Multi-storey depot is a good idea, with better ventilation and sercurity cameras, and also fire detectors too.
Cheers.

Just like Shatin Depot
Another way to actually prevent 9888Y from parking there and be buried in the amdep fire...
He should have done perm AMK Int overnight parking. Currently its 1 K230/Merc and 1 B9.

multi storey depot also dangerous in certain way... no way go if the lower floor caught fire ... in the end , more worst :(... open air depot ventilation lagi better... AMDEP also got security camera now, but is anyone monitoring it? and did the camera focus on all angle/directions?
i wonder which culprit(i mean which bus) started the fire and spread to the surrounding 5 buses..

just say that it is fated... 9888 should not have parked at the diagonal lots near the inspection centre.... i alway saw 9888 park at the driveway (1st bus) at right hand side of the exit of AMDEP (nearer to the workshop area) during weekday... maybe it have done a different shift on saturday, so that why it park at the diagonal slot on saturday night....

Open air depots would be just as safe if the dangers of fire can be solved, i.e. multi-story depots can install sprinkler/fire detection systems while it would be more difficult to install them on open air depots. There is no existing structure to build on...
And Multi story depots have more buses per unit area. Major accident won't be good...

S25 buses park facing the amdep exit. If you walk or take a bus past on weekends or after pm peak you can see them parking there.
That was before the fire though. Not sure where they park now cos the canvas is still there.. (or is it?)

saw a few parked at the former" sv161" slots...

I think the fire started from that bus between 9888Y and 7440T cos the whole rear of it is burnt till black but I might be wrong as it is parked more to the inside of the lot.
Juz hope that SBS9888Y can be saved
8 more pictures outside the deport. There are 10 there, 2 of them are the same.

these burned buses are removed from AMDEP already. Not sure where they go.... think SBST remove them in the middle of the night ? or else, if these buses are being on tow during day time, sure a lot of people/bus fan will notice it.... think maybe they are being send to HGBA to assess the damage..... SBS7440 have a high chance of being save though.....
that area in AMDEP have been cleared and the canvas removed....

we shall have to hear what the insurers have to say about saving 7440T. the rest of the buses should be gonecase though, the cost of repair would definitely be much greater than the revenue it can potentially bring in for the remainder of its lifespan..

according to a BC, 7440T could have been saved but cos the air pressure couldnt rise quickly enough to start the bus and move it away, then it got burned. if you see carefully 7440T, 9619H and 9888Y were the last 3 to kenna, it clearly started out from a leyland of which 1 burnt until left the chassis.
if you look at the damage, all buses cant be saved. 9888Y is torn into 2 already, do you think its sensible or even possible to recover it?
