Soon Lee Do have its good points. for example Soon Lee has many good BCs. i m not really THAT against soon lee. just dislike how it does things. so i shall stop OT here -.-
true. i believe these kind of nonsense is done by the commuters themselves to stop the cold air . take smrt bendies which cant close the vent , people stuff tissue paper inside there , etc.
same concept applies. sometimes i wonder if the tissue paper has been used before they stuff it up there ...

if it still there, is the BC prob. BC are to report all faults. There are some BC just pure ignorance. Your feeling I can understand that how I feel towards AM since young.
Gonna miss these first Superbuses in Singapore. ![]()
Hope the LO3X can find a new life in the UK... Dun really want them to go... I'd rather sacrifice 200 VO3X for LO3X.... Hai...
just some stats:
there is balance 90+ merc O405 - no matter what must go by next June. (not enough KUB to replace)
there is balance 280 MK III - lifespan till 5th Nov 2010 to 6th June 2011
there is balance 193 LO3x - lifespan till 26th Apr 2011
based on the press release by SBST/Volvo and newpaper report, the new Citaro and new B9TL can only start hitting the road from Mid 2011 to End of 2012... so even if the 150 B9 being registered by next June, it is still not enough to cover above buses. So there is high chance that MK III and LO3x will be extended some more.

Yes!!! SBST, pls extend the lifespans of MK3s and LO3x until they finish their 19 year lifespan.

Maybe no need more buses due to Circle Line currently? I believe there will have further fleet reduction once Downtown Line opens.

Scare 852 will get completely withdrawn....
I won't really miss the LOs, even if I miss the memory of my first ride on a Superbus.
People gripe about the lack of power of the VO3X, yet if we look at mainteinance, its hardly deniable that the VO3X Batch 1s as a comparison, is in MUCH better condition.
The LOs tend to have their centre axle misaligned when it should be neutral producing bonk bonk sounds at speeds typically above 30km/h.
Their gearbox also tends to be loose somewhere making for intense vibrations at certain gears and rpms.
The aircon is only better in recent years after the refurbishment. Prior to that, the incidence of sweating unnecessarily is about as high as the DT. 9037L proves exceptional to the rule. From the time I knew it 10 years ago to this day, its still a sauna, and thats even after refurbishment.
The smoke, the smell. Need I say more?
The noisy drum brakes.
If the LO must go, all the better to me.

9037L all the while have CMI a/c ![]()
Taking a LO3x on 502 is certainly a comfortable ride. Tried that last week, from Suntec City to IMM, less than an hour.

I took the Leylands on 502 last week, still seems pretty comfortable for me.
And these will be the last Leylands in Singapore...

These model of buses are not easy to maintain. Most of them should know that, that's why there are no extension recommeded
SBS9034U
SBS9036P
SBS9037L
(AMDEP SP
Non User Lay-Up till 17 Nov 2010)
SBS9010M - SBS9012H, SBS9014C - SBS9021G lifespan are all extended by 3 months to 28 Dec 2010. guess it will be difficult for SBST to come out with 100 B9 by end of 2010?
According to one-motoring
SBS9022D - SBS9031C
(19 Oct 2010)
(
19 Jan 2011)
Extended 3 months.
SBS9033Y, SBS9035S, SBS9038J - SBS9050Y, SBS9052S, SBS9053P lifespan all extended by 4 months till 17th March 2011. think SBST really got problem in getting their Wrights out.
Got chance they extend for 2 years(or 18 months) straight instead of giving monthly extensions like this?

dunno.. depend on SBST can manage to complete their 150 B9 in time or not. anyway, i guess at least 100Lo3x will get one year extension instead....
