Anyway if i try out your example of choosing to take the 170, 67 and 65 from Dunearn Rd College Green to St. Michael's place, would it be cheaper compared to taking direct 66?
No. that's because the transfers involved are all along the 66 route. It helps when 66 just doesnt come as soon as you want and you are somewhat in a hurry.
I've checked. Concession pass holders lugi dip dip.
Let's say you are a MRT pass holder. Then you need to take a bus to your final destination (say 96 from Clementi to NUS).
The 96 leg is counted as a new ride
and not as part of your journey.

This one really ridiculous.
No one want to write in and highlight?

its been the case all along. concession pass holders are not entitled to any form of transfer rebates in the past when they used stage fare. same system now. the concession pass leg is not considered as part of the journey.

as per fare stage system, if you got play with the system before, you MAY (cos i didnt try) get xfer rebate/window validity if tap out from bus-train ride-tap into connecting bus is within 45min...
Realised tat there's an issue w/ loop svs tat make double bus stop call.
The online calculator cannot list them both together on Svs like 60, 315.
Reminds me, the distance fare also affects 925 dip dip
i dont understand why i have to pay 71cts to travel only 1 bus stop, about 0.3km.
whats the logic? its distance based isnt it?

I've said in prev pages
There's always a basic cost i.e. wages, vehicle. It applies to everyone be it in manufacturing or services sector.
This value I figured out is usually based on an annual basic cost divided by the projected ridership/ sales volume.
a lot of people board service 28 at tampines street 21 to go the tampines mart.
i was one of them. there used to be a rebate of 25cts for transfers. but now i either pay 71 cts to travel 2 bus stops or walk in.
i am sure they have datas that show all these. frankly if the reason for charging 71cts is due to minimum charge then it is an obvious case of overcharging.
the more you travel, the more transfers you make, the more time you waste, the angrier you get in waiting for ninja buses, the more $ you save..
If your journey only 2 or 3 stops, you end up paying "more", but if you are transferring to another service for 2 or 3 stops, thats where the "savings" comes in

so if i want to pay less when travelling just 2 stops i should tabulate and transfer 3 times to get to my destination?
hahaha...

distance based my ass!!!
I think u dun even understand how it works even aft explanation.
U take 1st bus for 0.5km you pay 71c, 2nd bus take 0.7km, it's free as it's still within 3.2km being 1.2km.
The bus stop table is based on per service, you gotta go to e bus stop to tabulate your add on and correspond w/ fare table.
1 very stupid example since tis connection it's short but no direct bus available.
From Kaki Bt Ave 1/ Blk 660A > Ubi Ave 1/ Blk 343
Old system: 69c + 69c - 50c = 88c.
New: 71c (0.9km) + FREE (1.3km) = 71c (2.2km).

why dont you tell me how much i have to pay if i take service 28 at street 21 and alight at tampines mart, 2 stops away.
71cts or foc?
For multiple bus - MRT - bus x-fer.
1 example. Sv 334 from Opp Parc Oasis/ Jurong East Ave 1 > Jurong East Bus Int x-fer MRT > Kranji MRT x-fer Sv 170X to JB CIQ.
1st leg/ bus 334: $0.71 (2.0km)
2nd leg/ MRT: $0.70 (12.1km, sub-total dist: 14.1km). Sub total fare: $1.41 (13.3 - 14.2km fare band).
3rd leg/ bus 170X: $0.23 (5.8km, grand total dist: 19.9km). Grand total fare: $1.64 (19.3km - 20.2km fare band).
Basically the MRT fare & 170X deducted is to top up to the corresponding fare/ distance band.
If it's in the past it would be $0.69 (feeder bus) + $1.33 (MRT) + $0.69 (bus 170X) - $1 (2x transfer) = $1.71.

If you did not take a bus or train ride before your ride on service 28, its 71c.
If you took another bus or train before your ride, your fare on service 28 will depend on how much you have travelled earlier. That ranges from 0c up to 10c, since the journey on S28 is 0.7km.

let say you start from blk 206 and board sv28 to tampines mart, distance is 1.1km. you pay 71 cts. then you do finished your shopping within 45 mins and immediately board 291 at same bus stop, and then alight at blk 307A, you will travel 1.1km and pay 0 cts. (total distance is 2.2km) then you just walk and cut across blk 301 to bus stop outside blk 302 to take any bus (except sv28) back to blk 285 (which opposite st 21), you will travel 0.5km and pay 0 cts.. but this apply if you manage to do a quick shopping or da bao back food or what, as long as you manage to board 291 45 mins after alighting from sv28
it sound a bit troublesome... and must walk a bit... but if you take sv28 back directly, you will pay 71 cts more... so if you dun mind walk a bit.. can save 71 cts..
alternatively, if you got a lot of times and not in hurry.... can take sv28 to tampines mart, shop for a while then take 291 to st 21 opp blk 237 and cross road and take sv 3 back to blk 206. it will cost u S$0.91.. but then the 45 mins rule still apply...
Another round of online calculator programming changes probably coming.
LTA says errors rectified; refunds can be claimed
why cant the system do an auto refund on the cards of those they overcharged(the next time they travel)?
There's more errors in fact...
More to come.
