LOL last time @ bedok, gt 1 bus, came too early, wait like 10 mins then the bus depart then it go park. Most probably its svc 33 that time.
Bedok interchange is gonna get an A/C Bus INTERCHANGE WOOTS! BUT... It will happen before 2020 LOL
Bedok Interchange seems pretty old lol, soon it would get an upgrade, or maybe not... LOL

Yeah, prepared to get fine $20 when the bus conductor comes up
buses travel very long routes, much longer than necessary. they run up unnecessary distances just to pick up more passengers along the way. this is especially evident in feeder services.
will we be paying for those distances too?

problem is, you're already paying for these distances now with stage-based fare.
but you're right with feeders, with some passengers paying a few cents more or less just because they need a shorter ride on feeders. but generally, commuters can expect to see savings in the overall fare if they're transferring to and from feeders.
Bus stops along Paya Lebar Rd already have new service information posters using the new fare structure.

the Eunos-Marine Parade stretch got some bus stops also received these updates alr.

BTW, the concession cards for students seems pretty useless already as the distance fares are cheaper than the cost of concession cards.
XD, next time right, i can take almost every bus. Take wrongly also pay same price LOL
Fixed price for me i guess, $0.58 (+$0.30 for express)

Thats the purpose of distance fares, use transfers to other direct bus routes like...
60 goes to Bedok Reservoir Rd (Ring) before going to Bedok, while with the new distance fares, you can save money when u take any bus to the bus stop after it turns and take 60 which will cost cheaper this way
Hmmm with all the hype, nt a lot of passengers will end up saving...
I saw the poster update on bus fares for routes at Mountbatten Rd[os Assn for the deaf].
Presently nw sv196 from there to Marine Parade Rd[opp Blk72] is 0.69, however if new fare kicks in its 0.81 rather than 0.71!
Realli left me speechless...
not to mention
Tg Katong Rd -> Marine Parade Parkway is now tabulated as 1.5km than 1.5 fare stage equv of 1.2km.

Did LTA check with the bus companies before putting up the poster coz aft Jul 1, i DEFINITELY end up paying more than before

for one thing, in e past SBS is mindful of those taking long distance so probably tat's why in many cases it's rounded down.
Else you'll never see 40 & 155 sharing same fare stage inside Macpherson Estate or 154 using 5.5 for 3 bus stops inside.
it's going to be history.
In any case they also gotta take into mind ppl who are transfering as well. so yeah.
Hypothetically, if the one bus service travels a winding route of say 30 km to a destination, and alternatively taking three buses and travelling in an almost straight line to the same destination with the distance only 15 km. The three bus journey would be cheaper than the one bus journey.
One need to alight and board for the slightly cheaper fare as opposed to one long ride. This is advantages to the more agile.
Multiple waiting times also add to travelling time and increase the unpredictablity of the travelling time.
Transfer to same bus service, considered transfer? Like Tampines to Bedok (Service 67), buy something quickly at Sheng Siong, and then Bedok to Lavender St (Service 67 again).
How long is the transfer time frame, before a new ride kicks in?

To add on... if u take sv14,sv10 from Suntec to Mountbatten Rd[Mountbatten Sq] and tfr to sv196 and alight at Marine parade Rd[opp blk74], the current fare is 0.88[.69+.69 - .5]
New fare rule in wlll prob cost more base on yest's fare table wic i saw at the mountbatten rd bus stop

taking the same service back-to-back is considered a new trip, no more transfer. u can take the MRT on one leg of the journey. transfer time is 45mins from your exit-tap
give u an example: AMK ave 4 to MRT and back to ave 4 total: ~8fare stages or 6km:
current fare: 69cts + 19cts = 88cts
new fare: 6km = $1.01... sian..
@ Bartley MRT Station
Sv 158 to S'goon Int is now 1.8km.
Sv 28 to Toa Payoh Int is now 5.7km.
goodness.

This DBTF, is it in preparation for future fare increases?
I don't think it is better than the present fare pricing.
Two years down the road, there will be another revamp at our expense and inconvenience.
We commuters are already conveniencing the operators by buying our own EZ-Link card. We pay them in advance to use the service. A small amount of our money cannot be used because the balance is too low. All these are suppose to lower the fare, but instead it keeps on increasing. And we are threatened to put up with the increases or face a greater increase.
Only in Singapore.
