Cuz if im not wrong, 1 of the 502 split shifts ends quite late around 8 plus nearly to 9pm.

Duty 21S reaches SLBP at 8.58pm and goes off service.

There are 11 downroutes from the Delfi @ Orchard from 7.50pm in the evening till the end of operations, and that is not enough? The round trip buses even bunched with downroute buses. At around 9pm I think there were 4 buses within close range of each other near Marina Bay, 9014C 9016Y 5150T and 3914U (in order).
And I think you need to appreciate the fact that SLBP despatched all 4 5N crossovers proper yesterday, if not frequencies would be worse. I think if you had to take 518 from town at 6pm/7pm you'd be cursing and swearing. The scheduled headway was about 1 hour and they reduced it to 40 + 40 after pulling 1 bus forward by 20 mins. Reason? BN didn't despatch proper the first 3 4N crossovers and only inserted them as downroutes somewere near Marina Bay. So all those in Orchard areas all suffer.
ok, if it is that's the case, that is enough. Instead, some of the downroute should start from MBS since they just open. They should leave the jam area at orchard and reduce the bunch area.
I had always appreciate their effort.

But isn't downroutes the main point of reducing frequencies to the portion of the route where there are more people? Plus now that 502 travels one-directional in town, it is only fair to the Orchard folks that they deserve reduced frequencies from downroutes starting from town just as much as those in Suntec & Marina Bay.

Of course, but u was saying that more than 3 -4 buses are jammed at Orchard Rd. Somemore there are DD in the bunch then must well just start from MBS which suppose to have higher demand? Just curious only..

Then like that the downroutes wouldn't be used efficiently... if the main aim is to clear the increase in crowds in town waiting for 502, then starting downroutes only at Marina Bay doesn't achieve the aim of allowing the people in Orchard to wait less for a 502. Somemore if downroutes were to start in Marina Bay, pick up passengers for a few stops and head off to AYE, then it's like equivalent to fetching seats again...

1st bus is a 5N crossover. His 30mins break got "eaten". Next trip start downroute.
2nd bus not only has his 13mins break "eaten", he even started his next trip late.
3rd bus ending shift.

i dun see the need for it in the first place.
heard today 1May services calling at MBS has a high demand. Anyone have photos of the congestion / anyone know the root cause?

Most probable cause: today is a public holiday.
A lot of kiasu people. Nothing better to do.... Then later stomp on stomp and say MBS got poor crowd management again....
Haix... As usual... -_-"

Quite congested... was on 106 and took quite awhile to get to esplanade... root cause, its basically lousy planning on lta side. almost all of the buses and traffic got delayed while turning left from bayfront ave to raffles avenue because the slip road to turn left has a pedesterian crossing instead of a traffic light!
And u imagine when theres so much ppl crossing the pedestrian crossing, basically the vehicles have to wait a long time.

I went there last weekend when Helix and Bayfront Bridge just opened and saw the queue at night.. kinda guessed this will have a potential problem for traffic jams... zzz
the zebra crossing needs a traffic light.
and each of the 3 sides needs their own dedicated green light time.

the pedestrian crossing got traffic police guiding the traffic there today.
