why evening premium trips were rejected outright by PTC? Private operators are operating them in the evening. Compare the price and the places they go. One going from CBD to estate and another from shopping district + office building to estate. The final decision still lies on LTA and PTC and SBS.
that's because there are passengers who will benefit from this, but others are affected because they've been enjoying a privilege at the expense of others.
do you really think loading is that important on an express service? this is not your grandfather's bus company. every bus added is a cost, and this is most justified when added to a basic bus service to aid in its loading. an express bus can be loaded 110% and PTC won't fine a single cent.
the reason is private operators? if a bus is a bus, why ain't PTO's allowed to operate? you have no idea how bus operations work. even someone more senior like ZYX2005, service_238, TIB1232Z and SBS7485P (to name a few) will know why you can't pluck buses out to run premium during the PM peak like you do with AM peak.
final decision with LTA? then your MP is a figurehead? you have not known how many amendments were vetoed by grassroots, some as far as after the notices went up on the bus stop poles, like sv 115.

Is rather difficult to determine who been enjoying a privilege at the expense of others.
I think I am speaking as a customer point of view rather than bus operations. It's all about cost saving rather at the expense of the passengers rather than cannot do. This is not only said by me but also the people working in SBS Transit. Business models need to be improved. Never fine means can do watever they want? You are like telling me SBS Transit need to learn things in a hard way.
I believe these are isolated cases.
Nevertheless, lets see after a month how is the passengers reaction. Let figures

Nothing to do w/ traffic light, it's e traffic light scheme itself. Dun tell me use roads w/ less traffic light, unless S'pore is as big as Johor and devt can be sparsely developed.
As for Ave 6 u sure peak hr no jam?
Orchard is no choice but commonwealth ave is rather busy even with bus lane. Shortcut with lesser traffic should be used.
Ave 6 to Commonwealth ave no jam but the other direction is crazy.
OK..the news of the diversion are out on SBST website
http://www.sbstransit.com.sg/download/route_extension.pdf
Svc 97 Dir 1: Jurong East Int to Marina Ctr Terminal
Svc 97 Dir 2: Marina Ctr Terminal to Jurong East Int
Svc 133 Dir 1:Ang Mo Kio Int to Shenton Way Terminal
Svc 133 Dir 2:Shenton Way Terminal to Ang Mo Kio Int
Svc 133M: Shenton Way Terminal to Shenton Way Terminal (loop at Nicoll Highway)
Svc 518: Extend to Bayfront Ave then to ECP (add 2 bus stop)
Svc 502: Return leg do not go back to Orchard, amend ply Bayfront Ave to AYE
of course 518B/502B "cancelled", 518A/502A become AM peak service

such a clear-cut case. stop denying...
of course, every customer wants direct, fast & doorstep service, but this is not your complaint or wishlist forum. but when you're in the hot seat, do you really think you're only answerable to your commuters? you'll be busy trying to cool the seat down before more coal is added to the fire.
i'm also anticipating how travel patterns will shift & adapt to the changes...

you can't choose not to plying orchard road twice and get stuck twice? some sv502 BC's had to stay on the bus for up to 4 hours during festive seasons.....

he has a narrow view, like that of his moniker.

its clearly lower mileage to ply by holland rd than pie and travel times are the same.
Finally something logicial from u. Lower mileage but I must say is not comfortable as compared to PIE. Bumpy rides. I am drivers too I know. Anyway, should be flexible. Not to use Boon Layway - Commonwealth during the peak hrs is the thing they should do now.

die die will end up using Boon Lay Way, horse can't run unless forget abt serving IMM and IBP.
other than e bus info at Bayfront Ave wrong, the Sands Theatre bus stop isn't ready when I saw it today.

Ok sir, i state my explanation clearly again cos u doesn't seems to understand.
Direction 1: Soon Lee to Orchard Rd (Express sector)
Current Route: Boon Lay Way- Commonwealth Ave- Clementi Ave 2 - Ulu pandan
Proposed Route: PIE (During peak hrs) or Boon Lay Way- Commonwealth Ave- Clementi Ave 5 - Ave 2 - Ulu pandan.
Direction 2: Orchard Rd to Soon Lee (Express sector)
Current route(Operating on Monday): AYE - Clementi Ave 6 - Commonwealth - Boon Lay Way.
The traffic on this direction is much smoother but I also know the traffic towards PIE(Tuas) and AYE (City) is heavy. I had been posted to that area for 6 mths since last year.

Toh Guan Rd to PIE. Boon Lay way to commonwealth ave is the bottleneck.

u can forget it.
PIE is congested and u'll be stucked at Stevens Rd & Whitley Rd, PIE as well.
Clementi Ave 6 is jammed because of the C'wealth Ave West exit en-route AYE.

Then u implying skip Chervons, IBP & IMM?
The PM peak CBD bound demand if w/o IBP is almost empty.

ok another misunderstanding.
I am talking about the new route and no longer the old route discussion. Since it is changed I had mentioned that just let it off but not for other services in the future.
reminds me
Sekali there's event at Shangri La tat requires vehiclular control? So 502 divert via Bt Timah Rd, Evans Rd, Holland Rd, Napier Rd la?

Your proposed route is bloody stupid. 502A daily jammed at PIE you think that the route is suitable for peak hours??

Clementi Ave 6 is jammed because of the C'wealth Ave West exit en-route AYE.
I had been driving in the peak hrs towards steven rds. Maybe because of the ERP there. The traffic seems to be much smoother.
Do u know that the jam along Clementi ave 6 can make u stuck that stationary for more than 5-15 mins. Road condition worsen during rainy days.
Notice of route change installed at Suntec city bus stop this evening.
Note: Contractor used temporary panel to extend area for pasting notice. The notice is stick on type and can be easily removed by unauthorised people.

518B and 502B plate removed

so bloody clever, 502A jam at PIE is moving (Soon Lee To Orchard) but CLE ave 6 jam is not moving(Soon Lee To Orchard). Understand? I had stated, must be flexible!
