Bus spotting today

  Charles, I do hope that Sv. 88 gets VSOs, as it would then make 3 services with VSO at Bishan. BTW, SBS 9817C is on Sv. 56, and there is a VSO departing Bishan every hour, so at the most you have to wait one hour.
  
  I actually suggested to SBST that Sv. 56 and Sv. 88 should get VSO in my first letter, and I repeated that Sv. 55 and Sv. 88 should get VSO in my second letter to them.
  
  It is unlikely for VSO on Sv. 88 however, I believe Sv. 28 is short of buses after the route amendment, so SBs 9637E is on that service till a replacement is found(there goes my Citycab Heart Bus!)

  SBS Transit emphasize on more economical buses , quieter and comfortable buses .
  
  TIBS buses are great but they are noisy but super fast .

  Reason why VSO on 88 because of the load factor of 88 and also the bus passes by many housing estates like Bishan , Ang Mo Kia , Sengkang and then Pasir Ris . Low floor buses are needed on this route because a lot of old folks travel on this bus . Let's see what happens later .
  As for bus 28 , the VSO on bus 28 are permenent , i dont think they are short of the buses but at the same time , i doubt they have many spare buses .

  Sorry if I confused people in my earlier posts... of course the new VSO can't be compared to 9000 S!
  
  But frankly speaking if I am to ride in the night I would prefer the old leylands to the new VSOs, just a personal preference.

  I don't think Svc 88 gets VSO as it has lots of 96XX series of buses, which SBST might consider that they are still new. However, I do agree with what one of them had said about Svc 88. It passes many residential areas and there would be lots of old folks in most of the estates, therefore low floor buses like VSOs should be deployed on them.

  It is true that Sv. 88 passes by many mature estates, but the 96xx VOs were placed on Sv. 88 at the same time the service was launched in 2000. Reason being the 96xx VOs were built in 1999 and only deployed in 2000.
  
  Sv. 28 doesn't have spare buses, now it needs even more buses due to the route extension. Even if Sv. 88 has VSOs I suspect it would be the SBS 9835 - SBS 9849 buses.

  The 96XX series may transfer to other service like 133 . Because as far as I know bus 88 is regarded as one of the high class routes and besides the north east line will not affect bus 88 route . I dont know , we can wait and see .
