i'll tell my stops tmr... need to check Street DirectoryOriginally posted by Airbus330Captain:lol , that will be interesting . Let me think about it .
I know they are proposing a line that is from somewhere in town to Kallang, or from Bishan to Paya Lebar.Originally posted by kohanson:The whole island is full of MRT tracks!!
isn't that the Circle line?Originally posted by off_service:I know they are proposing a line that is from somewhere in town to Kallang, or from Bishan to Paya Lebar.
Yes, with the island full of MRT tracks, bus services might not be needed then, except for some feeders. I'm afraid that this will happen.
SMRT, which means Tibs also.. so, do u think there'll be another services-swooping?Originally posted by Airbus330Captain:By the way , who owns the Circle line ?
I dont think so .Originally posted by oliver_yuen87:SMRT, which means Tibs also.. so, do u think there'll be another services-swooping?
Service amendments maybe, not swopping. Unless SMRT or TIBS won a bid for a train operator licence in SBS Transit area of control.Originally posted by oliver_yuen87:SMRT, which means Tibs also.. so, do u think there'll be another services-swooping?
the line crosses at several interchanges though... i have a feeling 195 & a few other buses at Marina Ctr will come under Tibs, cos' the circle line also known as Marina LineOriginally posted by off_service:Service amendments maybe, not swopping. I disagree with this. Exchange of services will only happen in a housing estate, like CCK, WL, Bt Panjang etc. I don't think the government will allow that happen in downtown Singapore, as that would bring distinct advantage to TIBS with no SBS Transit services at Marina Centre.Originally posted by oliver_yuen87:the line crosses at several interchanges though... i have a feeling 195 & a few other buses at Marina Ctr will come under Tibs, cos' the circle line also known as Marina Line
I second this opinion .Originally posted by off_service:I disagree with this. ic... any height constraints for 195? it seems to have a heavy passenger load alsoOriginally posted by SBS9818A:Oliver, it is HIGHLY unlikely that the LTA would approve transfer of Marina Center services from SBST to TIBS(if it happens there goes my VSO on my 56!)
Even if the Circle Line comes to Bishan, I don't think the services will switch operators. Remember SBST had to hand over Chua Chu Kang and Bukit Batok services in compensation for winning the tender for the NEL, and as such TIBS had to hand over Sengkang and Punggol services.
Hmm, don't be disappointed just as yet, Darryl. Charles told me that Changi Airport Bus Terminals 1 & 2 will be merged to form a 'central' bus terminal, which will be built near Terminal 3, on ground level. This means Superbus will be able to be deployed on airport routes.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Oliver, it is HIGHLY unlikely that the LTA would approve transfer of Marina Center services from SBST to TIBS(if it happens there goes my VSO on my 56!)

Not sure if some of them have been shelved. But I'm certain that some of the mentioned ones have been re-planned. Examples are:Originally posted by oliver_yuen87:But in the newest proposed MRT map in Straits Times last year or two years ago, these tracks are not shown. Does that mean they have been shelved?
Sounds realistic... I forgot Ghim Moh. If there is a stop at Sixth avenue, many students will take it. But, will there be a demand at Lornie Road, NUH and PSA building?Originally posted by tranquilice:I read before there may be a "North Coast MRT/LRT Line" from Woodlands/Sembawang to Pasir Ris/Changi Airport via Simpang, Seletar and Punggol.
Back to Circle Line (These station names are "working names" only):
Stage 1: Dhoby Ghaut > (S'pore Arts) Museum > (Suntec) Convention Centre > Millennia > Nicoll Highway > Stage 2
Stage 2: (Stadium) Boulevard > Old Airport Rd > Tanjong Katong > Paya Lebar > MacPherson > Upper Paya Lebar > Stage 3
Stage 3: Bartley > Serangoon > Lor Chuan > Bishan > Marymount > Stages 4 & 5
My assumptions for Stages 4 & 5: Lornie Rd > Eng Neo Ave > Sixth Ave > Ghim Moh > Buona Vista > NUH > South Buona Vista Rd > Pasir Panjang Rd > PSA Building > HarbourFront > Keppel Rd > Marina BayFront > Millennia (Stage 1 station), thus forming the Circle Line.
Sixth Ave got many students???Originally posted by oliver_yuen87:Sounds realistic... I forgot Ghim Moh. If there is a stop at Sixth avenue, many students will take it. But, will there be a demand at Lornie Road, NUH and PSA building?
