Yeah, clean those hair oil/gel off the window every trip, or have those ppl to clean it!Originally posted by Airbus330Captain:If I take over SBS , i make sure that the bus company emphasis more on bus service " courtesy " and then make sure every bus is clean in and out !! Retire the Scania N113 buses as soon as possible . Maybe transfer them to amk depot for the last few months of service .
Well, while I feel for your story, perhaps you should have taken up your complaint with CSS and not taken a somewhat immature way of boycotting an operator just for an incident that took place so long ago?Originally posted by Airbus330Captain:Well for me , that has to be years ago , when i was in primary 6 . I remember this incident , its still fresh in my head .
I was taking Nissan Diesel bus 608 ( formerly known as CSS 8 ) . I stopped near Tao Nan School ( my primary school ) , the driver was pissed off with other passengers and I took my own sweet time to get off the bus , the driver called me and gave me a scolding , I was so pissed off with him because he was so unreasaonable just because I took my own sweet time , and then when i got off the bus the driver closed the door and my leg almost got stuck at the sliding door , i was about 1 sec fast !! From then on , I decided to boycoot CSS buses until this year !! No kidding , I havent taken CSS buses for many years .
How about you guys ?
People normally remember bad things about a person or company or whoever. First impression counts too.Originally posted by Windy_hates_B10TLs:Well, while I feel for your story, perhaps you should have taken up your complaint with CSS and not taken a somewhat immature way of boycotting an operator just for an incident that took place so long ago?
I severly doubt it was the first impression of the CSS services in general. If anything, it would have been a first impression of a CSS DRIVER.Originally posted by off_service:People normally remember bad things about a person or company or whoever. First impression counts too.
I second that. This is especially prevalent nearing the afternoon peak, which is about 4 p.m and is very hot. I think this is to avoid 'bunching' up with the bus in front, which in turn is also travelling like a snail to prevent bunching....so I think it is like this. I understand that SBST had strict instructions against bunching, especially after 2001-2002 when lots of people complained to the forum in ST about SBST. 93 also has the same problem, 165 a little better, and drivers like to drive very slowly along Lornie Rd, but drivers do tend try to beat the lights at Hougang.Originally posted by xian89:i sit on tis bus 74 non-aircon(double-decker) which travell slowly than a bicycle along adam road. Wah pian. tat day veri hot also n r the ppl on the bus were persiring profusely
Sorry to hear that , SBS management team are inept and incompetent and I hope they will sack those that are slacking in their job . They should be more concern for passengers needs and instead of making more $ . If Tibs are competiting with SBS most routes , I can say they will lose out more because afterall TIBS provides good service and cleaner buses ( seats not comfortable but that is alright ) . It's time for SBS to get the wake up call , just like Singapore Airlines . I love that airline but its a pity , the management are stubborn and success has definately get over their heads .Originally posted by the Bear:I gotta say it's the trip from Tuas in a SBS bus. Forgot what number it was.
Knocking off time.. lots of factories there so people are hot and sweaty... bus is pretty messed up as it's old and it stinks of burnt oil and rubber INSIDE!
Then the aircon breaks down!
It's crammed to capacity with everyone standing and the bus driver insists on keeping with the schedule.. so we're crawling along slowly, all the time, the temperature and sweaty BO smell inside the bus is building... It does not help that it's hotter than Hades outside but it's worse inside.
There was much swearing as some of the people inside cannot stand it but the next bus will be in 30 minutes.
Finally, it crawls to Boon Lay where everyone scrambles out.
All the worst bits of SBS...
- lousy driving (driver tap-dancing on the accelerator, making people sick)
- bad air (smell of burnt oil and rubber)
- broken airconditioning
- hot and humid
- too many people in a bus
- insufficient service during peak hours
one of the worst trips ever!
Fang Sheng and I were lucky because the bus 76 driver who was driving 9809 was happy to let us take photos and told us to board quickly and take some shots then he drops us at the YCK queue stand .Originally posted by leonard8433:Malaysia:
Bus driver smoking on an AC bus (at least better if they smoke in a non-AC one)
An Intrakota driver thought I didn't pay after I pressed the button and got the vaildator stuck. He scolded me, without listening. I was forced to pay again (with kids fare). I feel like spitting on him.
Paying more than I should as the driver changed stages too soon.

Superbus driver make a funny face when I was taking pic.
Taking the rear section of the bendy bus (once only), bumpy...

I don't think he has a choice. The bus is speed limited to 60km/h and 65-70 km/h is where 4th gear kicks in. You shouldn't blame the driver, it's not his fault.Originally posted by SBS9816E:How about a ride from Sengkang Interchange to Bendemeer Rd on Svc 85, travelling at the speed of 55-60km/h?! WAH KAO! I feel like VOMITTING BLOOD while I was on the bus. The rego is SBS9379A!! This Indian driver took his OWN SWEET TIME to drive the bus and the maximum gear that he could reach is the 3rd gear! Wah Kao! I felt so irritated in the bus that I got off at Bendemeer Rd and transfer to Svc 23 to carry on my journry to Sim Lim Square. I would swear that I would not take this bus with the bus driver again!
