I would love to see VSO and habit buses operating together , that will be sure interesting .
TIBS and SBS Scania buses operating together -_- .
What a scary thought .
IT will be nice to see many different mercedes types around . Imagine 970 with LO or VO superbus or Bus 36 with mercedes Volgren body ...
970 wouldn't allow DD buses because the bridge at Hillview Road is too low for them. Only single deck buses. if it isn't route 970, then it is the same route as the old 521.

Both companies vs the private companies .Originally posted by Spear:If those 2 companies really does merge, then with a bad leadership inside, the entire Singapore will experience what everyone would cry 'Monopoly' over future fair increases...And end up the 2 co split up again.

Sometimes you can't blame the driver for the bad acceleration and deceleration, as it do depend on the bus model. I'm not sure what's your experience, but those Dennis Lances ( yes, both 211 and 245 are guilty of it ) are one of those. Heard that it is very difficult to control, and maybe you should try service 852 in the morning peak and sit in front. If u are unlucky, u can get dizzy, and it is often too common to see columns of people experiencing Newton's 1st Law first hand when the driver brakes or accelerates too hard unintentionallyOriginally posted by the Bear:It is a big smokescreen.
If they are competitors, why do these 2 companies work like some kind of cartel?
BTW, I'm kinda amazed that you guys really care what bus type you take!
To any average joe like me, we're bloody happy if we get on a bus and the driver is trained well enough to not make the bus ride a total nightmare.
Most of the time, it's like they have parkinsons' in the foot.. the bus driver steps on the accelerator, then eases off then steps on it again when it slows down.. then repeats.. this causes the bus to accelerate and decelerate.. making people sick...
Then in Super Buses, and the old double-decked SBS ones without airconditioning, at the rear of the lower level, it invariably stinks of burnt oil and rubber.
Now, if such glaring problems are not solved at when there is "competition", I think it'll get worse when they actually merge.
Already, like I said, they're working like a cartel.
Ooh! Looks like I feel like trying it in the morning..
