Wow, awesome pictures you have shared with us...
Looks comfortable even before I stepped in it. Like the lower deck rearmost seats, there are headrests. And the side grabpoles design for the rear door is certainly very unique.
is the dashboard design the new generation Volvo design or is it the same as the CDGE B9TLs? They even have Chinese wordings for the door opening and closing buttons. Catering for China drivers, I suppose...
When will they be out on service???
By the way, if your noticed, SBS7500D being the demo, had SBS8031J kind of flooring.
SBS7502Z however got the flowery patterned flooring. Not sure about SBS7501Z and others.

The production models look more European than the demo model...
As for the rear isle for the lower deck, if you compare to KMB ones, I think SBST wants to cater for the design of the horizontal facing seats, that's why they build a more uniformed stepped up aisle. Look at KMB ones, the 2 rows are using vertical facing seats which moves with the gradient along the rear wheels and thus able to cater the stepless aisle, but it seems extra high up to move up the rearmost seats...

dashboard design is the new Volvo dashboard. the CDGE B9TLs have the same dash as the B7TLs. door closing / opening buttons have always had Chinese wordings..

Yah. SBS7500D somehow looks like the B9TLs due to flooring.

well, it will make the bus more hazardous to the elderly and people who stand...
it is not high to move up the rearmost seats. i have boarded few times and there is no issue about tt.
Add on even uk buses have stepless aisles and seating arrangement is diff from KMB, SBST DDs, all of them are forward facing

Well, you can feedback to SBST for this so that they can give you an explaination. I don't know about this batch but I have a feeling the next 300 B9TLs might be stepless aisles, together with the 300 new Mercedes Citaros in 2011.

and on top of your point, after so many years, and so many improvements, why did SBST still opt for spiral stairs. Where's the straight stairs!?

Already did, newspapers reports have already published/interviewed but they still persist...
Strange, further, as i repeat myself again, UK, HK wright buses are stepless aisles...

totali agree with your point, the straight stairs are spacious and wide...
HK's E500s, Wright are straight stairs...
A straight staircase is a much safer option in my opinion as the placement of the steps (and accounting for the movement of the bus) is straight.
A disappointment SBS Transit still went with a low entry concept for the Wright B9TLs, favouring abreast seating over low floor for the saloon...
i can see many smartypants here who think they are very smart talks as if they are the experts

i am one of the smartypants here coz i experience the buses both in uk/hk long enough to comment on SBST DDs.
u tried carrying a bag and a toddler and walk down SBST narrow staircase or tripping down the stairs.
If you do not, save your comments for elsewhere.
ACx

Totally agree.
Cheers.

a low floor option to the rear will result in a very narrow aisle which makes it difficult for seated passengers to get past standing passengers to the exits.

It might be the problem too, since Singaporeans are getting bigger and bigger in size.
Just look at the KMB ones, I doubt a normal Singaporean will be able to stand comfortably, let alone 2 people side by side.

Specs can be arranged... UK DDs are stepless aisles buses too
Dun tell me that a Briton has a small built?!
One more thing to add, plug doors are way out...
UK, HK new buses have the "push out, sliding doors"

Well, i wouldnt exactly say its way out, but it could be a hazard because of the relative lower quality build of the plug doors by smc transit. Compare the plug doors on habits and those on any k230, i believe just by the look of it u will know which is stronger when someone accidentally got pushed to the door or falls down and lean onto the door.
The safety issue here is because of the thin metal poles holding the door, the door could just give way and the person fall out of the bus! Remember the incident few years back where a vso door plug door broke off and was left dangling. Push out, sliding doors would not have this issue because there is a limit the door will go when someone knocks into it.
Also, push out, sliding doors would give a wider exit by reduction of the support poles needed near the btm of the door.
Do look at http://www.doorsystemsgroup.com/ for more info, they provide most if not all of the doors to kmb, nwfb and sbs's vo2/3x and mk4s.

SBST MB0405 also have it..

might as well as say each and every SBS TRANSIT bus has it.....
KMB went back to traditional stairs when they realised that straight stairs take up space with effect of the introduction of ATEU2. hmm. I prefer traditional stairs than straight stairs.
