VOLVO BUS B9TL Recall
Fire may occur
VOLVO BUS announced a problem with the B9TL affecting a total of 1,600 vehicles.
It has been identified that water can enter the engine bay, via the nearside air cleaner filter panel, and ingress into the top alternator. This can then cause the bearing to fail, which leads to an internal short circuit, and in extreme cases, possibly a fire.
The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall affected vehicles and fit a water trap to prevent water ingress into the alternator.
are our B9TLs affected by this recall which took place last year?

AMDEP fire, 18 months on: Resolved? haha
I vote the CDGE B9TLs as the worst DD introduced....if not for its extremely fast deterioration.
The WEGs are still new. We won't know what will happen to them at the moment.
Case-in-point: Dennis Tridents.

saw 7685D along Lornie Road this afternoon at 2plus , most likely going to BBDEP or SLBP.. yesterday morning saw another brand new wright with trade plate along PIE at 9am towards Tuas direction... should be 7682L....
There's limited choice for 3 axles city bus DDs..Problem lies with bodywerk ventilation not engine

They were more jerky, slower and noiser than the O305 and Olympians.
