  VOLVO BUS B9TL Recall

  Fire may occur

  VOLVO BUS announced a problem with the B9TL affecting a total of 1,600 vehicles. It has been identified that water can enter the engine bay, via the nearside air cleaner filter panel, and ingress into the top alternator. This can then cause the bearing to fail, which leads to an internal short circuit, and in extreme cases, possibly a fire.  The following remedial action is necessary to address this problem. Recall affected vehicles and fit a water trap to prevent water ingress into the alternator.

  I vote the CDGE B9TLs as the worst DD introduced....if not for its extremely fast deterioration.

  The WEGs are still new. We won't know what will happen to them at the moment.

  Case-in-point: Dennis Tridents.

  The B9TL was not the cause of the fire. It started off from a Leyland Olympian.
