1. SLBPOriginally posted by Smiley Volgren:SLBP stands for Soon Lee Bus Park but it is a mulit-storey depot! Have you seen the Superbus going up the third storey? Of course, it's true!
Darryl, we have to make the special negotiation on lowering the price for chartered bus if SBST is reluctant to sponsor us. More likely, we have to share money to book a single bus...cheaper lah. It's best if we all sign the petition to bombard SBST to host a one-day 3 depots tour for us. "Host" means SBST sponsors us a chartered Superbus...maybe VSO
Name 3 depots which you will like to visit FIRST:
1)
2)
3)
If the FIRST visit is voted, then we know how much we want to visit! Come on, bus fans!!!

To "Smiley Volgren": may I know your user ID on the message board?
Back to the topic, I guess SBST won't be so kind. We have to charter the bus ourselves if we want transported to be provided. How I wish the 811Ds are still around..You see, the 27-seater bus is enough for all of us and imagine the group of us occupying about two-thirds of the seats! Probability ->0. So how, what model shall we charter? B10BLE, Mk 4 (27xx, 28xx series) or Mk 4 (9xx series)? Maybe we can gather at say, Hougang Central Int and wait for the bus to pick us up? Oh yes, we should get more people going, so that the cost paid by each person will be reduced.
Do you think there is a canteen in each depot? We can't go on the tour w/o eating lunch rite?
About the petition...if you are interested in going (whether you can eventually make it is another case), pls sign your name, scan it and send it to me. I shall include the signatures of everyone who is interested.
My votes: 1. HGDEP 2. SLBP 3. AMDEP. Charles, you see i'm so~ good to you!
They'd recommend us to BRAM as it's right NEXT to the HQ!Originally posted by Smiley Volgren:If you are hungry, then count SLBP out. The directiion from HGDEP to SLBP is quite far. I believe that a staff will recommend us to HGDEP as it's near SBS Transit HQ located at Braddell Rd.
However, the tour is preferred to be scheduled in the afternoon instead of expecting ourselves to have lunch at the depot or whatever... We are not "babies"
Hey so serious about the petition ar? Oh man...you can just write a formal letter to the Director of Corporate Communication, Mdm Cheng Lay Tin who assigned her employees to handle Friends of SBST portfolio. They have the authority to host a activity for us.
Now, let's see what the others vote which depot they want to visit.
Nope, I still want to go to SLBP. Long distance is alright, then we can enjoy our ride on our chartered bus!Originally posted by Smiley Volgren:If you are hungry, then count SLBP out. One-way chartered bus is a suitable and cheaper choice bcoz not all of us prefers two-way trip. Definitely, we may go on our own after the visit to one of the depots. What do u think guys?Originally posted by SBS9818A:Hao Rui, please request for special arrangements! It would really be more feasible to charter a bus from point to point, it may be cheaper too and there is no time limit.
I have a contact, who is also an extremely reliable source...only, he prefers to stay away from obsessed enthusiasts.....Originally posted by oliver_yuen87:you all very thick-skinned huh? ask SBST to sponsor... Who got connection here?
Most of us are bus freaks, surely we will travel in bus on our own... i think we dun need the chartering bus, is it?Originally posted by SBS9819Y:So how, shall we just forget about chartering? But I'll try my best to persuade them to allow us on those special buses at the depots.
