1) You take a MRT train and stop at Sembawang MRT Station, cross the road along Sembawang Drive and then wait for Service 962. It's not worth a trip. Now, this proposed extened route (Service 857 to be renumbered 985) is able to bring you home by bus connecting from the city or from Khatib to Sembawang. Any comments to share?

Rather special route. Caters the needs of Sembawang residents to the eastern side of the country.
2) Is it convenient for you (Yishun residents) to be able to reach Pasir Ris Town where you can drop by and visit your friends there.
It should be alright as the expressway does provide a fast link for Yishun residents to Pasir Ris.
3) Is it convenient for you (Pasir Ris residents) to travel by bus in a faster and smooth ride to Yishun and Sembawang?

It does save quite a lot on travelling fares. This is because taking MRT is quite expensive.

However, do keep in mind that the 2 bus stops outside Yishun Interchange and Northpoint are bursting already.
Do you mean modifying 969 instead of 965? It doesn't make much sense to delete the Sengkang sector entirely and put a repitition service to Tampines alongside 969. If its 965, maybe its a very good idea, especially it can be quite empty at times and provide a better competition to SBST's 161.
Honestly, service 857 is damn long already, since it is driven as a loop service. -

one thing tho: i just got probelms wif the numbers
u see changi area uses buses which end wif 9 for example 89, 19 and 29
i think it is better that 859 stay as 859 and not become 986. 859 shd NOT BE renumbered but instead extend ontot eh suggested route instead

dun expect to c much improve in Sembawang. from wat i noe Sembawang is a consider statellite town serve by Yishun n Woodlands unless major changes is make in the future plan
As for construction of bus interchange is under the purview of LTA
