Yeah! SMRT loves high performance buses! My dad told me the bus uses outward sliding doors. Cool!
I was at STK this morning, saw the staff doing checks on the new bus..the door is very special, it slide outwards, like the MRT trains.never seen a public bus use this kind of outward sliding doors before.also the bus is very handsome looking.really a nice looking bus..

Habit bendies already have outward swinging sliding doors for its back doors.
The bus is longer than a standard 12 m bus just to tell you plainly. Around 12.5 - 13 metres. Info given by my godfather.

But i thought Habits ones are those that swing outwards rather than like MRT kinds, sliding type? Most of the KMB KUBs are using the sliding doors instead of swinging.

Go to page 9/13! The picture seems to suggest that it is entirely low floor. It can be powered by Euro 4/5/EEV engines or a CNG engine - from 270 hp to 320 hp.
this bus is definitely best for sv858 ![]()

Looks like the bus is going to have a Hanover EDS and the SMRT's favourite brand of A/C, Konvekta.
And the bodywork will be MCV Evolution, first yn SG too.
And for those who dunno how the bodywork looks like, link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Thames_Travel_1257.JPG
Not exactly the same bus but will look like this.
this bus is not a hybrid, right?

Not a hybrid
I believe the bus looks closer to this bodywork design

Just realised, SMRT seems to be buying those units that have options that lead to a low-floor bendy, anyone realise this(apart from the chinese buses)? Citaro(which have Citaro G) first, now MAN NL323(which have NG323). Hmmmm.

It needs 1 year of service before it can become a WAB bus?

SMRT are now trying to go for the low-floor to be elderly friendly, WAB friendly and also Environmentally friendly.
wonder if the bus will go to 855?

maybe i should re-phrase.. the doors are like MRT kind which slide open, same as the video which XiaoTaro post sorry if my post is misleading. i shouldn't use the word 'swing'. i have edited my posts to avoid further confusion.
i believe it is the first public city to use outward sliding doors.
