I suggest amending some long loop services to terminate at the nearest int/ter to improve bus fequency esp the return trip and also to prevent bus captains from suffering from such a long journey. I guess these BCs must have really strong bladder to tahan such long journeys or got to sacrifice their own health by drinking only litle bit of water.

eg sv 36 to terminate at Bt Merah int? If the bus is stuck in a traffic jam eg ECP/Suntec/Orchard, then the bus frequency and also the BC's bladder will suffer!

Instead of cutting up long routes as suggested by LTA before, I suggest identifying these extra long routes and single out the possible congested stretch(s) of the route. If the route is passing too many congested sections, then it should be amended to bypass some of these stretch to avoid getting stuck in the jams.

construct new bus-stops along TPE slip roads leading to Punggol/Sengkang estates, so that svcs currently plying along TPE can call at these stops. If overcrowding becomes an issue, can always consider adding somemore new services.

I think service 36 did terminate at Bukit Merah before. But SBS Transit won't allow that because of duplication with 16.

or SBST can just terminate sv 36 at the coach park opp somewhere opp Botanic Gdns for BCs to rest and go toilet and help to better stabilise the frequency for the return trip.
