Also to add, I think 161 with full fleet DDs is doing very well now with each bus having between 60 - 85 pax. So 161A is not really needed.

It's too long for a short route like 101 and is not feasible. The purpose is to let people @ Hougang to have a seat inside the bus. If it start from Kovan, the purpose is not met there. Furthermore people from Serangoon will board 43/109 instead of 101. So basically people at Kovan have seats.

I think 9252G is suggesting something else to avoid peak hour crowding of buses at MRT bus stop.

Aft MRT is Interchange alr.... But what BusAnalayzer said is true, purpose is to avoid peak hour crowding at MRT bs... Clementi is alr very congested in the central area.

I suggest CGBP to SLBP via North side also to reduce duplication with MRT

It's indeed a huge duplication of 176....
All said and done, west coast highway needs another service besides 175, 176. SBST should have launched 120 from Jurong East Interchange looping at Tehlok Blangah Heights. The service would have been a super hit.
