Ironic isn't it?
Normally when they take picture of the bus involved in accidents, they would pixellate the rego....now they happily blew the rego out to the public.
Anyway RIP for the rider. It wouldn't matter as much whose fault is it once an accident has occured and someone loses his/her life.
I've a feeling some of the journalist these days may not be locals..
I mean for those who reads Chinese newspaper would understand what I mean abt the terms typed in the articles.

dun like that la, it is still a bus. Anyway, bodywork quite strong ah.
wah. hit 4 vehicles, hit traffic light, traffic light hits building....
at first, it was "bus swerved to avoid oncoming cab".
then it was "witnesses said bus went on despite lights changed to red". hmmm....
SBS Transit has virtualy admitted that the bus driver ran through red lights and caused the accident.
From
the report and photos it seems that the bus was travelling on
Victoria Street in direction from Stamford Road towards Middle Road,
whilst the SilverCab taxi was not from the opposite direction (implying
Victoria St from direction of Middle Rd) but from the left of the bus
(i.e. Bras Basah Road).
The taxi driver probably accelerated his
vehicle as soon as light turned green. He and his passengers could have
been killed had the bus not swerved and hit it directly on the side.
Probably
the driver of blue taxi reacted fast & tried to moved his car
forward quickly, but did not manage to get clear. If he did not move his
taxi he might have been severely injured or killed from a direct side
collision.

THE double-decker bus had holes on its windscreen and two large web-like cracks creeping across the tempered glass.
The glass panel of the front door lay in a heap of shards and fragments on the ground. Pieces of glass fragments littered the driver's console.
The damage was caused by two men who attacked the bus and later the bus driver John Achin, after he honked at a lorry blocking a bus stop at Hougang Avenue 3.
After their destruction, they forced their way through the smashed door into the bus and pummelled the driver as about 20 passengers cowered in fear and screamed in horror.
