yep. i confirmed based on the non-rear window and EDS VO3x wif an M as the last character of the rego.
the bus definitely moving at very high speed.
just look at the impact and the way he "lost control" and somehow ended up on the side of the traffic.
wow.
really a bit more the whole bus would have gone into the MRT tracks.![]()
RIP for the chap. Hope it was mercifully quick.
Edit: You guys should screw the id-ing of bus and be more sensitive here!

IMO it may be the BC turning inside at high speed and then failed to steer back into the road in time, causing the bus to bang into the right of the car and then go into the pavement b4 coming to a stop near the open air, where the NSL tracks are.
R.I.P to car driver, this reminds me of the HK bus incident that happened on 9/11/2009...

how fast can the bus go? even if the bus is going at 40km/hr, it will need some distance to stop considering its weight..... maybe the bus going straight, then the other direction, some vehicle, suddenly want to turn right (from bishan rd to bishan st 14), so the BC swerved the steering and hit the stationary car....
Lucky.... if the bus had managed to drop to the MRT tracks, the consequences will be disastrous.
RIP to the driver.
I feel sad for the driver in the car. I mean, if his car was stationary because of a red light (which i suppose it is given the way the news article reported), he was doing no wrong, he was obeying the traffic rules. Then out of nowhere, suddenly comes one massive monster (the bus) and crushes the side of your car, so massive the impact that the airbag didn't deploy on the Camry at all.
Other motorists die because of negligence, speeding, arrogance. This man did nothing wrong and he died. Sad. ![]()
FB bus fans said that this slot was supposed to be done by a KUB... But then~

Eyewitnesses report the bus was travelling at a fast speed and the BC lost control while trying to merge into a slip road. The bus then hit the side of the car
By Jeanette Tan | Yahoo! Newsroom – 2 hours 6 minutes ago

A man was killed when his stationary car was hit by a double-decker bus at the slip road near Bishan MRT Station on Monday afternoon.
The car driver, identified by the Singapore Civil Defence Force(SCDF) as a Chinese man in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics after the SCDF and the police received a call for help at 3:35pm.
SCDF told Yahoo! Singapore that he was found trapped in his seat and had to be removed from the scene by SCDF officers, while his passenger, a Chinese woman in her 50s, was sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital with swollen legs and complaints of pain in her right arm.
No other injuries were reported, according to checks done with theSCDF and the police.
The accident occured at the junction between Bishan Road and Bishan Street 14.
23-year-old Low Guan You was travelling on another bus and passed the scene of the accident at about 6:30pm.
He told Yahoo! Singapore that the entire double-decker bus had cleared the railing on the side of the road and was straddling the sidewalk.
“The entire bus was on the sidewalk, and it nearly hit the MRT line,” said the undergraduate, adding that a tow truck was on the scene by that time, and staff were trying to work out how to remove the double-decker bus from the sidewalk.
Low also said that the scene caused slight traffic congestion at the junction where the accident happened.

Gabriel Benjamin said the windscreen of the bus was at the barricade overlooking the MRT train tracks.
He added that he "saw a lot of white paint on the road, the white car boot had buckets of white paint in it." He saw the police cordon off the area and there were at least 25 people at the scene.
SBS Transit's senior vice president for corporate communications Tammy Tan said the operator is in touch with the car's passenger "to find out how she is and to see how we can render assistance".
"We are also trying to get in touch with the family of the driver and are assisting the police with their investigations," she said. "We are very sorry that this has happened. Our immediate focus is on helping the injured."
TodayOnline cited eyewitness accounts of the SBS double-decker bus losing control while trying to merge into a slip road. According to the report, the bus then hit the side of the deceased driver’s stationary car that was headed toward Bishan Street 22.
is the bus off service at the time of accident? cos the news said no passengers onboard the bus
how fast can the bus go.... singapore buses only 60km/h.
unlike my CW3 which went at 110km/h just now........
RIP to car driver uncle. we can't have his account of the accident..
Tat junction ar...
Pretty dangerous.. Cos you turn left from Bishan St 14 into Bishan Rd/ Stn, there's an immediate lane merger...
Somemore Singaporean car drivers these days, 'Give way' sign = no need to stop sign...
No wonder why lots of Singaporean related accidents in NS Highway. Drive in Singapore speeding all these alrdy so much nonsense, dun say trying 140km/hr on NS Highway and dunno how to look out for hazards...
No need to say so much..
Taxi drivers on the road these days is recipe for accident...

how fast is fast? if the bus is really travelling at 61-80km/hr (i.e Speeding as mention by you), i think the bus will crash into the mrt track...
what do they mean by merge into a slip road?
Think I'm getting it... The car was forming up at junction...
mmm... Brake?

They dun even know there's a lane merger there... We can't expect reporters to observe the traffic scheme entirely.

That CW3 bus.. Register the rego, the driver straight away pichala...
More than 40km/hr of the speed limit = 24 pt DP + court case.
I think he's making a speedy right-turn from St 22 to Bishan Road where there is a merging lane. Maybe he could not generate enough centripetal force and swung onto the stationary cars that had just stopped for the red light.
