accordingly to the LTA press release, there is no way for the vehicles to go from jln kolam ayer directly to PIE via the new access road.. it have to via whampoa east... think SMRT is still thinking whether to go straight via PIE instead or travel longer distance...

4 or 6? think SMRT is having big headache.... if they decide to go straight, ppl will complain... if they go one big round, pax will also complain of the longer journey...

With effect from 04 September 2011, Whampoa North will be permanently closed. Bus Service 966 route will be amended to ply from Bendemeer Road through Whampoa East to Serangoon Road

The Chinese version of the press release states that the route diversion is temporary.It will goes straight from Jln Kolam Ayer to Jln Toa Payoh once the junction configuration is done.
