Premium services I guest they are to deter more passengers from taking as they cannot just add more Bendies to cope with the no standing law since they are not buying any high capacity buses.
Eh..
The worst is some time back some member of public kpkbing why 587 no standee.. Say 190 very packed dunno wat 101 reason..
Singaporeans are 1 thing.. Tell you premium no standee, say why no standee, 190 very packed...
Like this, this member of public want 587 to carry sardine pack load, SMRT lagi profitable? Then you want SMRT to be even more profitable?

raising fares make commuters unhappy
and their profits is dropping, making shareholders unhappy as well.
if its a normal corporation, think it wont be sustainable down the road..
As of dec 31 2010, Temasek owns 54%, and is the sole substantial shareholder
well well...

Seriously.
Considering how crappy their NR service is. Anybody who takes it will know what I mean.
Goes on wrong road. Check
Stops at wrong bus-stop. Check.
Absolutely bonkers schedule. Check
Plain lousy and dangerous driving. Check.
Why let SMRT carry on? Tell me.

I'd rather the money from COE to be used for better bus or MRT infrastructure.
Seriously, SMRT has to look elsewhere to see how ppl operate the MRT system.
Elsewhere there's no CCTV for TO one, they've to get out and check. Even as I saw the CCTV, it's not good as in the doors that's further away from the camera is not that focused... Human eye can see better.
Buses wise, it's all to do w/ scheduling and training of drivers not to rush no matter wat..
The cycle will forever be the same as long as this govt controls.
Increase COE premiums to force people to take public transport and
after that increase public transport fares again with the same old
lame excuses. They only care about solving their own problems and
make profits for themselves.

Lousy bus fleets (esp for 965 tat kind if svc, only ONE variety of buses)? Check.
SBS were equally guilty of that in the old days when they had full B10M fleets for certain routes. Not anymore though.
Tibs used to have all the exotic looking buses, but when they were absorbed by SMRT Corp, everything went downhill.

Even KCRC uses it

SMRT raised S$1 per trip , SBST raised S$0.20 for premium.. SBST uses DDs, even Wrights on its premium service....
SMRT's cost control is terrible...

But Melbourne, Sydney & Brisbane transit operators love their L94UBs. I seriously wonder what is it about this model that Asian countries hate so much.

This..
In fact, there's people who have benefitted from distance fare, though direct long dist travellers have to pay more. In fact, more worthy for ppl to take feeders if they're staying 3 bus stops away, but my advise is.... Walking is better
Anyway, distance fare benefits those who have longer express sv duration hours also. Which SMRT is lacking of.

Very bad. I think they should put SBS1688K on training instead.
Extension Of Train And Bus Services On Eve Of Hari Raya Haji

SMRT extends train and selected bus services for Hari Raya Haji
The Lentor Premium is a joke.
Plies almost same route as 825, aft its ops hours.. now charge $2.20.
Basic Sv becomes Premium Sv during extended hours

For the longest time, at least 6 years already, 2888T's backlight on the left side of the EDS was not repaired leaving half of the EDS invisible. The last time I saw it up close was couple of months ago, guess what? The EDS is still not repaired.
Tells you something about this bus's situation? Its very much like the Tridents, neglected.
Now contrast it with the B10BLE and you'll see a world's difference.

Something that Dennis Scania Republic founder (SBS1985C) will never allow.
