according to lianhe zao bao, SMRT & SBST are going to buy 119 and 300 new buses respectively- Bendies & Double decks

kick 3 give in 10 that is going to be a big overshot for KJ but if AM kick atleast 5 give 7 more reasonable atleast 2-3 overshots can accomodate.

Seems odd, the numbers given by straits times does not really tally with this.
In the straits times, $7.96 million in savings for both sbst and smrt. Total of 419 buses, 119 going to smrt, 300 to sbst.
In average, smrt saves $16 500 per vehicle for 119buses,
while sbst saves $20 000 per vehicle for 300 buses.
Since ARF is 5% of the OMV,
average OMV for smrt is $330 000 and for sbst is $400 000.
Since sbst is known to be getting DD, there's no way bendies come cheaper than the DD! Unless its made by somewhere in asia.

They buy 5 bendies, the rest rigids?
Originally posted by carbikebus:I dun think only 5 WAB Bendies,Out of 119 i feel only 33 make it..Those 33 should replace the MKI Bendy in one to one exchange
But wouldnt smrt replace the rigids first since its lifespan is ending soon?
Anyway, i find this pretty weird because the omv of the oc500le is already 320k. There's not alot of room for getting bendies with that amount of savings given.

maybe replace 1 bendy... who knows they get a demonstrator somewhere... only 1 bendy.. 838h...
the rest later lah.. lol.... then rigid is to replace... 425r to 561e (excluding JB reg OAC).

Source of this? The article never mentioned the specific models of what both companies are going to buy.
No source, no talk and shut up.

I think they are all refering to single deckers. 300 should be the Citaros that SBST had bought.

Read in today's ST.
There is no mention of any models that both companies are buying. The 300 buses might just be the new Citaros that SBST is buying.
The 119 buses for SMRT is most likely single deckers replacing the first batch of O405s.

hmm, ST in fact did mention that SBST is getting DDs, but probably its a mix of DD and SD because each DD cost 520k at OMV.

So you mean the 300 new buses this year are not mentioning the Citaros ordered last year?
Wat if...
2x ADD comes into picture.. no one knows e OMV yet

Lets say JB registred MB aren't counted, we have 117 of Batch 1 O405 to be replaced, which means additional 2 buses are either fleet expansion or demo bendies...

There won't be any Citaro based bendies but MAN maybe. But new bendies will only come in after 2013, unless LTA decides to scrap the Mark 1 O405 bendies early by this year.

Some of the Box-Bendies were chosen for the refurbish programme and got extended, however, some are not is because they are either in good condition.
Others maybe waiting for replacement...i guess?

In that case, the replacement of bendies will even come in more later.

Just a one-year trial before the confirm to scrap?

I don't know what are you talking about but new bendies will only come in after 2013, which is 17 years after the first batch from TIBS.

The earliest is 2014 if SMRT wants to extend, which they most probably would.
TIB838H should be gone by 2015 if an extension is granted.
